Hey all, found a lot of good info on how to install a sub on a non-jbl setup.
I just got a 2017 double cab tacoma, with the JBL sound system.

I have one of those box/amp combo all in one unit

I cant find any info on how to connect the factory headunit up to this.

Doesn't the jbl come with a factory sub? Anyways you would either need a line out converter to convert hi level speaker wires to low level inputs for the amp, unless that sub has high level inputs, u will have to search or someone else may know the wires but just tap the wires to one of the rear door speakers. Of course you still have to run power and ground wires, but I assume u can handle that.

I'm in the same boat... I have an 18 with JBL and want to replace the factory sub with a Kicker Hideaway or similar and place it under the passenger seat to get back that storage space behind the rear seats.

I had a Kicker Hideaway in my 13 WRX hatch and it was great for 25mo until the sub died all of the sudden, but I'd still get another.

The JBL in my 2011 Camry gives way more kick than the JBL in my 2018 Tacoma, what gives? I am also looking for a better sub solution but everything I find is for non-JBL...
