Hey guys, been eyeing some led bulbs for my 3rd gen for a short while now so i finally decided i would buy two sets of opt7 bulbs for my lows and fogs. I was even able to find two sets on ebay for 151 shipped..... long story short, after much debating and research, the cheapskate in me got the best of me along with Amazons very good return process (that i have used before). so i ended up buying two sets of this "stark" h11 led kit. they are advertised as 80 watt 8000lm and 6000k, 30,000 hour lifespan and the bulbs are 3-sided so ideally they would work perfect in the projector housings. $40.99 a set! i thought it was too good to be true. so i pulled the trigger and ordered two sets, thanks to amazons speedy prime delivery they were here in no time.

This can be considered a "semi" installation thread/ initial review since i just installed them today.
they showed up in basic packaging , nothing special which doesn't bother me at all.
pulling out the old bulbs is a snap and it seemed as if toyota even designed plenty of clearance to sneak your hands in there for quick bulb changes. the new bulbs are a single unit type design with no other separations/connections between the oem plug and the headlight bulb itself.
unfortunately, you cannot just sneak the new bulbs into place as they are indeed larger than original. luckily all you have to do is unbolt the tops of the headlights and give them a light tug to give you enough room to install the bulbs. the bulbs are sensitive to polarity so in this case the connector can be plugged in two ways 180 degrees from each other to the oem harness. one position locks into place perfectly but wont power on the bulbs since the polarity is reversed. if you flip the connector over and plug in it will power the bulbs but wont lock completely and properly into place. so the proper solution is to switch the terminals in the oem harness, it is extremely easy to do. you just need to pull out the green terminal lock and then unlock each wire pin and switch the position within the connector, carefully of course. then plug up your lights and make sure they all work properly. i used zipties to secure the led drivers and extra harness so it doesnt flop around.
intial quality seems to be very good but only time will tell how long they actually last and if i have any other issues with them in the near future.
light output is similar if not better than the halogen bulbs and the color matches perfectly with the DRL.
the projector housings do a great job of mitigating glare and the beam is really nice and spread out.
the fogs on the other hand are extremely bright and do have a good bit of glare but the brightness is really nice.
the built in fans are definitely audible when the engine is off but its nothing outrageous.
overall i am very pleased with the build quality, brightness and color and most of all the price tag.
i will update the post with any issues that i have with them as time goes on but i really wanted to let people know of a opt7 led alternative that doesnt cost $100 per pair, which easily turns into $200 plus when you order two sets or more.
also you should look up the youtube video comparing a opt7 led kit compared to a no name ebay led kit, and its pretty obvious that they are the very similar.
feel free to ask any questions and share your thoughts. i will be posting more pics shortly. stark h11.jpg
