I’m doing the exact same thing. Have some Diode Dynamic SSC2 on the way with a red back light. Adding a bit of extra night time lighting with the red and a lot of extra light when reversing. Can’t decide if I want to put the white light on a separate switch or tie them into my reverse lights

this is my plan but with a dd ssc1. I’d like to wire it to a three way switch so I can turn it on not in reverse and also wire in a license plate light cut off while in reverse all in a plug and play harness. Maybe one of the wiring gurus could help a guy out?

For those not wanting to cut/drill, has anyone tried the diode dynamic hitch mount light kit?

There are a few options for non cut/drill

I think I've seen a few people on Tundras.com use them and seem to like them.

Looks great! Looks similar to mine.

Installed some SSC2 Sport Flood with red backlight on my ADI Off-road bumper. I have them wired into my 7-pin trailer harness. Red backlight illuminates when I brake and signal. White light is wired into my reverse

One of my friend has the DD hitch light and is plenty bright. Very tempted going this route!!

    I got it. Love it
Have the easy harness too, so when I do tow or use my shackle D ring I just unlock the hitch pin and swap it out. Little pricey but I didn’t want to cut my bumper caps cause it would be completely blocked when I put my Rigd tire carrier on

Edit: the right side would anyways

    Is that the amber ones?
I have the morimoto amber and maaaan, I don’t even need high beams paired with the rx350 retros haha

but do it. which pattern are you going with? DD was out of stock when I ordered so I ended up with Baja Designs wide cornering. Amazing kit for reversing with a softtopper on

Great write up & very clean installation from everyone. I choose the easy route by mounting it below the bumper. It’s fast & no cut. Diode dynamic hitch mount is nice but I have most parts around the house including the light. Most people connect to the 7pin connector. I did it differently by running a new line from the battery to the back, relay, switch, & diode (prevent power from going back into the dash & trigger tss). Some might say there’s no need to run new power line, but I have other plans in the future.

I have a combo beam pattern, spot & flood. Good spread close range and far away.

Nice. I'm still toying with the idea of embedding some SSC1s in the bumper caps or mounting like you did. And your 2nd picture would be way clearer with something like daveesa's https://fbchs.square.site/product/t...-dir-disable-in-reverse-/2?cs=true&cst=custom

The flush mount is nice, it does take longer to install. If you have the time, I say go for it.

I know about the license plate light mod but due to the price, I didn’t want to do it lol. The glare is minimal and it doesn’t bother me.
