What I don't get is that the 6' bed is called a long bed when we all know that a long bed is at least 8' in a pickup truck. 6' beds are really short beds.... What should we call the 5' bed? Extra short bed?

That makes as much sense as saying if you bought a DCSB you might as well have bought a mini van

    oh wait

Looking like I'm picking up a DCSB in the morning. Hopefully, it won't suck as bad as it sounds!

If they offered a long bed and manual I would have ordered that, but having a manual is more important to me. I also would have liked the option for quality audio. I might just build something for that.

The long bed is around 700 dollars more... The Tacoma is already in the price range of full sized trucks with v6s

When the time comes ill be down-sizing from an 8ft bed silverado to a 6ft bed tacoma. Idk how much shorter the taco will be overall but i cannot imagine only having 5 feet back there. Especiially not when i think about sleeping in the bed and taking it to the drive in and stuff

A minivan won't haul my four wheeler or tow my camper, your point is invalid.

My DCSB was $10,000 less (street price) than a comparably equipped full size. The difference between a DCSB and DCLB in Canada is about $5K due to the way the trucks are optioned.

Sorry, I double checked the Toyota website and the difference is $3K plus tax. I got $2K off MSRP so the DCLB Upgrade I saw on the lot was listed for $5K more than what I paid for my DCSB Upgrade, hence the mistake.

If my truck is a minivan, your truck is an extended minivan. Enjoy it.

    what ?

For the same options you're saying it's $3K more to get the DCLB versus DCSB ? That doesn't seem right

It was 600 less in 2nd gen and 700 now. Maybe he bought the short bed so he could get a Manual. The automatic costs a lot more and long bed is only available in automatic.

    Idk tho

I just looked again.... It's 610 to 660 more for short bed to long bed across all other options and packages

Dunno about the "3rd" gen but there were hoards of DCLB base model , 2wd , steel wheels, non painted bumpers, no rear slider , no fogs, no tow hitch 2nd gens rolling around Hawaii. If you want a cheap DCLB, I'm sure you can get one.

In Canada the DCSB only comes in manual

Yep, this is why it's a 3k difference. I chose short-bed because I prefer driving manual and didn't think I'd regret losing a foot of the bed. This is my first truck, so we'll see when I get it.

So same options as the DCLB version or no ?

Cause you can get both in SR5 , Sport and Base no ?
