if you have an oscillating saw or a cast saw...those are extremely easy to use and cut nicely

Yes, I will be going through with mine, just trying to figure out the fog light situation first. The 2nd gen is harder to do it on because you have to relocate the fog lights and still make it look good. Sergio, wait till you see what I have planned though.....it is a shock to the system and not for everyone but it will be like...."i kinda like that" and grow on you like a fungus. OP, i say go for it. Don't listen to the naysayers, you do to your Tacoma what you think is going to look good to you. I am waiting till October when mine is paid off though.....

This just needs @MESO endcaps to clean up the side view. I'll gladly cut and test out a set for the idea of these exciting new "Corner Pods" ;) :bananadance:

I have quite a bit of damage to one side perfect for this mod but I've always been curious would this expose to much of the back side of the fog lights and allow water to enter the fender easier? Is there a local support to keep the cut component from flapping?

I have thought of that as well. Don’t cut the inner liner instead use a heat gun to bend up then cut any excess.

Will this allow a lot of water to go up behind the fogs? That would be my only concern. I'm at work so I can't go out and look but it would seem to me that this opens up the bumper where stock it's pretty much "sealed"

The bumper does not seal anything at all. The fogs themselves are sealed and the connectors are water resistant.

This. The fog lights are already partially exposed, and if you spend anytime wheeling or in mud you'll notice stuff gets pretty dirty behind the stock bumper.

I wasn't worried to much about the fogs vs have a giant hole between the liner and fender for direct water into the intake on the passenger side. I guess someone mention you heat and bend the remaining liner could zip tie closed.

    I like it, almost Zr2-ish.

what happens to the inner fender liner though? cut it with the bumper and?.. leave the hole?

I did this to my 4Runner.

Would recommend a utility knife for the cleanest cut. Have to make a few passes but you won’t melt it like a rotary tool will.

The extra portion of fender liner can be tucked up and fastened where able. Or can buy some thin abs sheet to close the gap if desired.
