It’s about a 3 inch lift. I was lucky enough to catch a good sale on AutoAnything.com and got the lift for like $2,500-ish from what I remember.

Does it mount directly to the oem inside bed rails? If so, what is the tool box manufacture and model?

It was super easy. Started at the top and just peeled it off by hand. They all came off in one piece without tearing. I cleaned up with goo-gone then soap/water. There was little to no sticky stuff to clean up.

It’s a UWS. The model is TBS 54 SPLA.
It’s made for a step side Ford Ranger. It sits on the wheels wells inside the bed. It’s a little tight between the wells so I am working on some aluminum C-channel to raise it up a few inches. Right now it’s sitting on some 4x4 wood blocks and the height is perfect. FD4DC573-D297-43F8-978C-C670F86168CA.jpg

I'm in the market for some side steps, not sliders, because I surf and loading and unloading boards from my roof rack is much easier with steps. I don't need steps to get in and out of the truck (I'm 6 foot, so its perfect getting in and out without them) so I'd like them to be low profile for the most part.
What I want to know is not so much what the best deal is, money wise, but more how everyone likes their particular step. I've seen tons of different types and some look like they would be more irritating/dangerous than actually useful/practical. So any advice would be appreciated.

My boyfriend has a set of the grey ones for his Ram 4500. I like them a lot, but don't wash them in hot water and use low temp dry setting...otherwise they shrink a little bit. At least for the Ram Truck, I don't like the coverage around the belt buckles. There are large gaps that I ended up sewing on extra fabric to keep dog hair/dirt out. They may have a better fit in a Taco.

We have the brown ones since it's a work truck - match the dirt.

The are very heavy duty - no rips/tears in 3 years of abuse from 4 large dogs.

If I had a pair for my Taco, I'd get grey to go with the black interior.

Sounds like you’d love the ones I hate - Shark. They mount almost at the same height as the door sill. I found that they were great for standing on to see or access the top parts of the truck, but useless as a step for getting into the cab. Why step on them when you can just put your foot over a few inches into the cab. You should easily find someone like me who removed them shortly after having them. If all else fails, maybe flip them over and use them as sliders.

I upgraded to a 2017 TRD OR 4X4 DCSB. I'm digging the color.

Looking for rock sliders, does anyone have recommendations? Also how does it affect road noise and gas consumption?

Adjusted them to give me about 3in in the front and paired the rears with an icon add a leaf kit for about 2.5in in the rear.
