I know there is a lengthy thread on Maxtrac Spindles for 2nd Gens. I've seen the install video on the 3rd Gen but does anyone have any first hand experience with these on their 3rd Gen? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger but need a little more convincing.

I want to get 4" Maxtrac spindles as well since I have a 4x2 so I'm curious to find out.

I didn't end up doing it....chickened out. I was nervous because it didn't seem like there was a whole lot out there on this particular set up. If you do it please fill us in.

I'm surprised there haven't been more threads.

There are a lot of people on this forum that have 4" spindles whether it's Maxtrac or Camburg brand spindle for the 2nd gen so you should be able to use it on the 3rd gen tacos.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm also planning to do the 4" spindle lift, and was looking for someone with first hand experience on their 3rd Gen. I'm only worried about how much my stock wheels will stick out. I'm planning to keep running my stock 16" wheels.

Why so much lift on a 2 wheel drive? Just looks? Level of bro-ness? I have 4x2 and changed suspension, but not 4".

It doesn't change the factory geometry of the suspension. So you can get a nice looking lift without a ton of headaches.

So the only change is the offset of the lower hub assembly and maintains 100% steering and LCA geometry? I need to research this, not that I'm going to do it.

I am not the most mechanically inclined so it was naturally difficult to me. lol Luckily I had some help from a bunch of good local Tacoma guys down here that actually knew what they were doing. But overall it's not too difficult after a couple youtube videos I'm sure. Pics below.

Good folks helping out a fellow taco owner!
Question for you. Did you happen to notice the country of origin on these spindles?

Thanks for posting your results with pics! What tires are those BTW?
