    other than that love her

Me too, I have had two flats 1200 miles on truck. I am waiting till I bust one before I get tires. The stock tires can't take the dirt roads around here road graders bust the rocks up till they are sharp.

I see tires for sale 50,000 miles never had a flat, just pisses me off. LOL Tires on all our vechicles is a yearly thing not a mileage thing.

Be cautious about the exhaust and filter and tb spacer. On the 2nd gen trucks more often then not an aftermarket catback exhaust and high flo filter and t b spacer cost the purchaser between 200-600 dollars and the net gain was 0mpg, 0hp, and a some more noise with crappy filtration. The guys with boost usually benifited but thats a small percentage of the users here.

Not so sure about how these things will do on the 3rd gen you have. Just a word of caution.

I'm in a DCLB OR 4X4 and have 20.5 lifetime and get around 23-25 on the freeway depending Hills and speed.

    Slow down

Drivers should drive the speed limit and/or go with the flow of traffic in order to reduce risks to other motorists

Fuelly is showing 17.9 mpg for the 2015 and 18.6 for the 2016.... the fact they couldn't even squeeze an extra full 1 mpg average out of this 3.5L is a bit disappointing. Most trucks built & sold aren't even 4x4

^ Fuelly includes 4 cyl and 6 cyl tacomas together, and not surprisingly the 4cyl was more popular in the second gens (where they got better mpg) then the 3rd gens (where EPA thinks there is minimal difference), which artificially inflates the 2015 numbers if you think your are comparing 6cyl to 6cyl.

I can drive as I please. Our minimum speed limit is 45mph on California freeways

Well it is the "free to be me" era. Being an asshole that puts others' safety at risk, is your prerogative if you so please.

Just keep right and you can go as slow as you like IMO. Just don't go 55 in the left lane and pace the car going 55 in the right lane so no one can pass.

    6 cylinder 2015 avg is 17.65. 6 cylinder 2016 Avg is 18.56

4 cyl doesn't make significant difference

I drive in the 3rd and 4th lane with the trucks when I drive slow. They don't care

I love this idea. Same as learning trigger pull with a penny on your front sight. You'll know for sure how fucked up you throttle input or trigger pull is after this.

Driving like that around here isn't practical and it would probably cause an accident.

    none yet/none planned! It's perfect!
Pump you tires up to the max rating. Mine rolls a lot better at 48 than 35. Look up hypermilling to get some tips. It's a game for me to see how well I can do. I used to do it in a Ford Focus and went from 31 to 37.

I am a hypermiler LOL It's become a game to me as well. A good hypermiler can drive with a glass of water on the dash. It's habit. rolling to stops...and rolling out of stops.

I've found in my 15' TDI Jetta that I could pull down better numbers with a brisker acceleration from a start. The best I've got on my 52 mile commute of 95% highway is 58.8mpg. Man I'm gonna miss this thing when my Tacoma shows up.

i guess the Tacoma is a different animal all together.
