Yeah it's unfortunate, not everyone wins the car lottery. It sounds like you got what you wanted in the end which is all that matters. There's a million of silent users happy with their trucks so some negative feedback aint that bad. Happy Friday

    This is exactly the response i was looking for. I knew there were some GREAT reasons you had for getting rid of it. I can fully agree with what you listed, its not the truck for you. Thank you! again, I apologize. I'm not a troll;

Exactly- I'm genuinely happy for everyone that has zero issues! It's a nice truck- it looks good, it certainly has more off-road chops than my Silverado. There is a lot to like.

If I could have only ONE vehicle, here in Montana.. It would be a Tacoma, hands down. I'd make it work. But I have trail beater and a truck. I may add another trail mule to stable to- just not a third gen :p

Smitty lives to complain and poke and prod. When people push back on his never ending steam of Debbie downer routine he ignore-buttons them. That person represents someone that he can't recruit to his axe-to-grind cause. It's a weird attention need thing, but whatever.

I think if I put him on ignore, 10% of all the post I see will disappear.

By the way, he might put you on ignore, but just create a complaint thread and he'll be back like a moth to a flame.

Yep I had a 2014 turbo Subaru Forester. Fantastic vehicle, just wasn't for me, and it didn't even have problems. Curious, did you have a 2016 or a 2017 taco? It seems most unhappy people are with the 2016. 2017 folks seem to be more satisfied.

You hardly busted my bubble. I didn't realize your only outlet for socialization and friendships was through your laptop. I apologize for wondering why someone would spend their valuable time continuing to negate a vehicle they no longer own.

That's why I've got this. Solid axles, quick detach sway bar...

It goes places my DCLB wouldn't go.

220k on the original 4.0 and tranny too. Great rig. Thought my son was taking it to Bozeman..

I traded in my Peterbilt for a 3rd gen and I'm pretty disappointed that I can no longer tow 80,000 lbs. Get it together Toyota.

Don't think so. You think that Jeep outdoes the taco ?
I've had one since 1990. Five jeeps all together over the years.
I know that 4.0 like the back of my hand.

Those year Jeeps got 14 mpg. Cash for clunkers years ago had them listed at that and available for 4K rebate. I know. Nice try. Do some research.

Technology of Jeeps from 90 cannot compete with today's tech. Jeeps have crawl control ? Can't believe you actually believe that.

Why the fuck do I need crawl control? I didn't need it my 30 years prior trail riding why would I need it now?

I guess all those new Tacoma's without crawl control shouldn't bother to go off road because according to you they can't or not as well. That shits a gimmick for people that don't drive off road.

I get exactly 14 mpg, my tacos average was 16 mpg. The Tacoma wasn't a big leap forward in the fuel efficiency department.

Bought Febuary 2016, my 4th Taco. Best of the bunch. First time I bought a 2WD Sport, don't need a 4WD this buy. But, going to keep this 16 for one more year trade it in for 19 and go back to a Sport 4WD just a lot more fun to drive especially off road. I only put 5,000 a year on my Tacos will get premium $'s for it. Love my Tacos...

More HP will do that for you. And the 2016 pickup trucks .Com midsize review had the Tacoma 2nd to last in unloaded braking and LAST when loaded to full payload. And it has the lowest payload of any competitor so that goes to show you how shitty the brakes are.

Seems a common theme is people with the manual transmission are happy whereas lots of people with auto are not. Maybe Toyota will make a move when the new Ranger eats even more into the segment.
