Still waiting to find a fellow MGM with a scoop to swap with. My wife laughs at me every time I see one and say I should leave them a note on the windshield.

 

Maybe you should. I was on the fence for a while about whether I wanted to do it, and even once I decided I really wanted to get a hood without the scoop, I had no idea how to go about it. It's been probably almost a year since I decided I'd like to trade with someone, but I never even thought to check for an internet forum until last week. I know I'm in the minority (scoop going to scoopless) but if someone had left me a note, it would have tipped me over the edge and I'd have done it a lot sooner. You might get lucky.

 

I dont understand why yall all want a fake part so bad. Just get the Lund tape on hood scoop..can't tell while your driving anyway

Yes it will. If you trade your cement scoop for my cement non-scoop, it will make your truck much more valuable.

But on the real I doubt it. Half the time when dealers do an appraisal they do it so fast. Just for your humor I have a 4cyl. I have added parts to build it similar to a pro. Exterior only. And when I drive in most people believe its a real pro! Little do they know pros don't come in the silver sky metallic color (as far as I know)

Ive resorted to stalking mgm trd sports on Craigslist. But nobody is wanting to trade.

Seriously if your about to sell the truck or trade it in? Why would you care? Especially with cash on top? Baffles me. Had 4 people turn me down already.

I wouldn’t go that way... the whole cash on top adds a level of expectation. I have never liked that, sounds desperate. Instead, “interested in trading your scooped hood for a non-scooped hood? Let’s talk. call/text/email me..."

True that! Well said. No reason to offer money if there is a chance of a straight trade. Very very rare BUT possible

 

If that is what they want. You never know their motivation. Some just want to assure a safe and proper job, by using a reputable shop. Some just want a solution to their problem (reflection/blocked view). Some want money. But if you come out the gun offering cash... the first question is “how much?”. You think $200-400. They think $600-$1,000. At that point you’re now negotiating to get something back that you created an expectation for.
