I’ve looked online and inquired at dealerships and body shops..but after freight and tax, it ends up being around $700. Maybe prices vary in different areas but I’m in WA state. Non OEMs can be had for around $500.

ill do what I can for it. I have some vacation time coming up but Uncle Sam would really frown on me breaking the rules given the current situation. even though it would be for a sweet scooped hood.

The main hood itself is probably less than $500, but you also need the plastic scoop part, mounting hardware/trim, etc. I think by the time you get all the parts together to actually build the full skewped hood it is probably close to $700 in parts.

What prices have you seen just for the painting side of things?

I'm in WA state and I've gotten quotes around $500-$700 just for paint. $700 in parts sounds about right for OEM hood and components/hardware. I'm waiting for our "shelter in place" order and non-essential business shutdown and will get the process started with the body shop and should have a final price at that time.

If you are planning to buy at dealership and deliver to body shop, WAIT. Talk to the body shop first. They get a sizable discount with the dealership (which some dealerships will discount for you). It is worth checking with them first.

EDIT: Also, if you are using the dealership paint shop, they SHOULD help with bringing the costs down this way. A package deal, per se.

Yea, went straight to a reputable body shop and was quoted the $1k price for a OEM hood and paint.
