    Hello Tacoma brothers and sisters!
I just recently purchased my 2019 Midnight Black Tacoma! Bought it from a Toyota Dealership! So happy with it but there is one thing I do wish it had and that is a hood with the useless scoop! Heh.. So if anyone near Fresno County or Tulare county has a hood with the cool scoop that wants to swap with my regular hood please let me know! My hood is in great condition inside and out! I like to keep my engine bay clean, you see.. Clean freak I kinda am. Anyway, please let me know! Let’s make a deal! If you are far then let’s meet half ways and make the swap. I don’t mind! Shoot me a text friend.

I do have a question for everyone who is looking for scooped hood to swap. I’m new to Tacoma’s and all the mods but trying to learn.

i know this scoop hood isn’t like a true functioning scoop hood that I’m used to back in my day on muscle cars. However, getting air and the look of the Tacoma scoop is awesome.

Why does it not seem to be an option to buy these aftermarket scooped hoods? Sorry never really changed hoods on my vehicles anymore

You can get them aftermarket, going rate for OEM scooped hood painted is around $1300+ There is a group buy for $1200 but the deliver date is end of November and its not fully OEM for that price.

Yeah. It would be extremely rare for me to find one to swap as my color was discontinued. Was just wondering why not just buy and paint? I’m not sure id ever spend that much myself but...I guess if I really really wanted that hood I’d pay it.

it looks great not gonna lie. Wish I had one.

I keep dragging my feet knowing that as soon as i drop the money on it, one will become available for much cheaper. However, if i buy one, i won't freak out every time i see a silver sport around town and yell out my car "DO YOU WANT $500???!!!". Half joking, i haven't done that, but i do get excited every time i see one. Selling the current hood will suck too. I have headlights and tail lights i am still sitting on.

Ha yeah. I can’t do that as I don’t even see my color Tacoma around here.
It does appear to be hard to turn around and sell the hood w/o scoop.

depending on the color of your truck, a wrapped hood might look good. I don’t think one would with my metallic black since it has flakes and all but others might.

Not a bad idea, i have the metallic silver though, so I found a place that will do it close to $500, they are reputable. I am about to order the parts now, tired of waiting. So if my luck this year is any indication, everyone keep an eye out for a scooped silver hood cheap in the seattle area really soon. :D

Really? People must be pretty short tempered to get pissed off at that.

Are you going OEM or aftermarket?

I have lurked these kinds of threads since I got my truck last year, some people here got pretty pissy when people said that they left cards under windshield wipers. I think its ridiculous if they aren't damaging anything.
I purchased just now from cheaper of the local Toyota dealerships, Toyota of Puyallup. A bit under $600 for all the parts and a local family owned collision center will do the painting for about $500. I might even be able to pick it up tomorrow and take it to the paint shop.
