WTT: 2020 Super white TRD Pro hood scoop for Super white TRD Pro hood scoop with OEM TRD Pro hood graphics.

 

Why not just go get the dealer to install them?

 

You can just buy the graphics kit....

 

The TRD Pro graphics is not available for sale even if you have a TRD Pro. The aftermarket graphics do not match the OEM. I saw this tread and said what the heck... maybe someone out there with the graphics do not care for them.

There are different versions of the aftermarket graphics. Ive seen matching ones.

Just a question (or three)about trading hoods with someone. First, is there a reason, other than cosmetic, that some people want rid of their scooped hoods? Are their any issues with them. Next, if I want to swap out of my 2021 non scooped hood, would it be comparable with all gen 3’s, or model year specific? Last, are all of these scooped hoods OEM? Thanks.

 

Still looking for a midnight black metallic scooped hood in/around MD. Have the trade hood, some cash or dogecoin to offer! I have a 2020 with about 5K miles on it with an AVA deflector.

They are all interchangeable. There may be difference in the paints though. The black trucks went to midnight black metallic in 2018 from umm another shiny black but not the same. Blues are different too.

 

Some say it’s harder to see over the scoop depending on approach angle, some say it’s more difficult to see over it just in general. To my knowledge all 3rd gen hoods are interchangeable/compatible with each other regarding different years, but you do have to take into account possible fading from the sun on an earlier year than yours or even a garage kept vs not vehicle.
If it’s not OEM the person posting typically says. Pretty good group of people here overall, but always ask if you are questioning it.

 

@bonesamon .No the hood scoop is just for looks. Most people who have them complain about how it impedes visibility. The scoop is usually an OEM part on TRD's. I am not sure if all 3rd gen hoods are compatible with either other, I am sure you could call a dealership and they can tell you.

Yeah the scoop is just for looks, but as someone who has owned both a Sport and an OR, I think it does deflect wind etc more because I swear I had much less bugs hitting the windshield when I had the Sport with the scoop. And as others have said, usually the biggest complaint against the scoop is that it does affect your visibility over the hood.

Generally it is OEM here, but there are some after-market ones as well, so if you must have OEM, be sure to check that with whoever you are trading with. Usually people are nice and honest enough to say if theirs is not OEM though, from what I've seen.

As far as compatibility, I believe all 3rd Gens (2016+) should be swappable, but of course you might want to keep age in mind. Someone with a brand new 2021 hood might not want to swap with someone's 2016 one that has wear and tear, UV exposure, paint fade, rock chips, etc.
