Instead of painting, I’m going to see how close some of the 3M vinyls look to the midnight black to have it wrapped. With the blue base and flecks it might be tough. Your MHM might be an easier match to have it wrapped. 2-300 for wrap around here.

I think the link you posted said the assembly comes with the scoop. Unless I'm interpreting it incorrectly

I bought an OEM hood from my local dealer. Funny part is, it was $381 online with another $100 shipping after I used the freeship coupon and like $475 if I bought it at the dealer. I just went ahead and ordered it at the dealer. I’ll report back when hood and eBay kit arrived

I went this route, bought those same parts directly from Toyota though, they had a sale.

I had the hood painted at Maaco and wrapped the scoop in carbon fiber. Sold the hood after a while so wasn't out that much money. I love that damn scoop so much.

 

Not sure where you are, but the OEM hood can be purchased from many dealerships around the country with free local pickup for only $60 more than the one you posted.

 

Also, if you sweet talk the parts department they can sometimes put in a coupon or discount code for you. YMMV
I couldnt be happier with how mine turned out and I only regret not doing it sooner. Those scooped hood trades are a myth.

 

I’m at the dealer for a check engine light and went back to the parts department to check the local price of the hood. While they said the same price as I saw online there, he also said they are on major back order. Not sure how true but figured I’d share anyway.

 

are any of the hoods available? i got a nick in my hood from being an idiot a few weeks ago, you can kind of see metal.
if it starts to rust, ill prob just replace it, but am thinking i may need to put an order in sooner if theyre on back order

 

Each dealer might tell you something different but that one said there were 4 and 50 on backorder…
