Where I live CA painting a new hood OEM hood to match with all the parts needed and install, about 2500 was my last quote. So 1k on top of not having to deal with selling your old hood might be justified for some. Not saying it right but some dudes gotta do what they gotta do. Happy Friday TW.

I keep hearing you can get a new for under 1K painted, etc, but have yet to hear if anyone on this forum validate that pricing for a painted OEM hood? I even priced out at Revmoto and that's close to 2K+

OEM or CAPA is the Key word here too and If you got one painted for 1K and it was with quality and perfection, show us your invoice and where so other members and get in on it. Otherwise...

You can't. That's what people commenting are lying to themselves about. Sure you can get the OEM parts and a Maaco paint job for around $1000... thats not what I am looking for. I want OEM quality paint. Mint condition. Perfect match. I've tried to offer $1000 for the swap in the past and have had no takers here in Colorado. I'm sure there is one guy in the mountains who would do a straight trade and sit down and drink a 12 pack with me... but thats a needle in a haystack.

Top dollar, RIGHT NOW for an Army Green scooped hood trade in Bay Area, CA. My inbox has been empty since last September. But hit me up if you need cash.

I dare someone to take me up on my offer, I welcome it.... that's what I thought.

I'm buying some Westcott Sliders instead. F the hood.

I'm not sure why no one just buys one of the carbon fiber hoods...they're reasonably priced and not much more than the price of a stock hood.

If you're talking about a raw carbon hood its about 1500? OEM with all the little parts (during a sale) about 800-900. FACT as I priced it out not me imagining unicorn numbers, it's the painting from a reputable shop that costs most.

But also maybe resale value? Might be a harder sale since not a lot of folks care about hoods outside of TW members. I would think people are more concerned about OEM safety then looks / faux performance.

Took a few years but I found a swap. Even trade too. Took all of 20 minutes to meet, greet, swap hoods, pop smoke and leave, haha. So it does happen.

Already plasti-dipped the scoop too. Matches my mirror caps and fenders now.

    Acquire OEM parts
Acquire OEM paint code or purchase it
Network and find a professional willingly to do it on the side

$1000 in total seems plausible ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Probable doesn't mean it's realistic. Find a painter who will do an OEM-quality job for $150...

I do have to say at my wholesale cost it’s about 450-500 for the parts alone and the Toyota I buy from has a body shop that said it would be 425 for paint plus install, but the Oem hood had been on back order for months .

Cool that you can get parts for so cheap, but how many people get a wholesale price on Toyota parts?

Anyone I’ve met in person on here I always offer to give them my cost on anything from Toyota , it’s people that find the lowest price ever listed that come at me with I can get it for xxxxxx . Wholesale isn’t always the cheapest but I give them the invoice showing it’s total cost as I do at the shop . I don’t make money on the parts I make money on installation .

Are you interested in trading for a new 22 BR flat hood + $500 cash?

LOL, beautiful truck. Hopefully I will run with the same luck.

ANY Barcelona Red hood scoops out there that would like to trade for a flat red hood + $500 (in AZ)?

I was one of the lucky one who picked up a mint condition hood for $400 and got it painted for $560 at a reputable body shop in Ca. Paint was professionaly matched before it was sprayed on the hood. D9A10444-6362-41D5-A2D7-BA23844A13F7.jpg

I bought an OEM one from ReveMoto. Took advantage of a Black Friday deal and paid ~$1,400 all said and done. The. Sold my FLAT HOOD on Craigslist for $300. More than I wanted to spend but I’m happy I did it
