    I had this happen when I had my SR5 and needed the TRD radio bezel. I walked right out in the parking lot and took a picture of the same color Sport VIN that was right out front. I can also suggest capturing the VIN of a totaled match from a parts vehicle on fleBay or your favorite salvage site. Handy to have.


    EDIT: I forgot, but there is a parts list I and several others have posted previously. Walking in with the part numbers helps. Unfortunately some counter clerks can’t seem to function without a VIN, no matter what.

    Be careful with which body shop you choose to get estimates from. I had one body shop report minor damage to CARFAX for my truck just because I asked for an estimate to get a hood painted and gave them my VIN when they requested it. They never actually saw my truck. It’s not a simple task to get CARFAX to remove a report like this either. You basically have to prove that damage never occurred.
