    The cost of the hood depends on whether you want a factory Toyota hood or an after-market hood. I've seen one after-market hood (don't remember the brand) and it looked good. Same gauge sheet metal as the factory hood but costs about 50% less. You should be able to pick up the hood, scoop items, and have it painted for $500 or less.
    There is a functional fiberglass hood on eBay that's in the $800 range (shipped) and the scoop is already part of the hood. I'm not sure how much benefit the functional scoop would provide.
