UPDATE: Issue resolved with agreeable ending. Thanks for the help everyone!

    All,

My 2018 TRD Off Road, DCLB was totaled within the past week. Insurance has been easy to deal with so far but I got my payout quote today and it does not seem adequate.

Without disclosing the number, I want to enlist the TW community to help me determine a fair replacement cost. Obviously, this is partially determined by location, color, lots of other factors. Please just ignore those as I'm looking for a wide range to average.

My particular truck is a white 2018 TRD Off Road, Double Cab, Long bed with Premium and Tech packages. All of these are requirements, and what makes this truck so hard to find and then replace.

If you feel like helping, please shoot me a link in a PM or post in this thread!

    Thanks

Did you compare the payout to KBB and NADA retail?

Sorry to read this. Hope nobody got injured in the accident.
Here in Massachusetts I’m pretty sure you can refuse the first offer and let the 2 insurance companies come up with a better number.
    Good luck with the battle.

How much was the payout? three fifty?

If you've already accepted the payout you're pretty much boned

The 3rd gen is not holding it's value worth a damn compared to 2nd gens. They're now selling so many of these trucks that the prices like it or not are starting to drop

Most insurance companies just look at the Mannheim auction values for the month and base there quotes on that. Try finding similar trucks for sale and send your insurance company screen shots those. Also it would help us if we knew what they were giving you to see if it’s fair.

No they don't, auction value has nothing to do with market value.

I haven't heard of the Mannheim auction value, that's good to know.

Trying to find similar trucks is why I'm reaching out for help. it's head spinning to search through everything. Figured a few might want to lend a hand.

I feel a little weird disclosing what they are offering, but might eventually. I'll check out the resources mentioned here but so far it's below the KBB value assigned. I'll check out the Mannheim thing, thanks for the tip

NADA says about $36k. I would go after that.

We could probably be more helpful if you just told us what they offered you.

I'm not having luck determining that on the NADA site.

They are offering $33,575, but 35-36,000 seems more accurate. Can you send me a screenshot of that?

I'm not trying to break balls, but i'm seeing 2018 3rd gen TRDs with dealer CPO and less miles now going for that or less now. NADA and KBB are not gospel and the 2020s just came out.

IMO the 3rd gen is going to break a lot of hearts if people are hoping it's going to retain as much value as a 2nd gen.

True, and i respect your point, but being the DCLB adds value (it's just more expensive) and having the premium and tech packages adds value.

I can't be looking at the 1.2 million DCSB models and comparing. This is a stupidly hard truck to find and I want a direct replacement

You can’t look up the Mannhei
I don’t think the public can look them up. You’d need a login to the auction or a piece of software like vauto. Also the value your getting for your truck seems pretty fair imo.

The insurance company doesn't care how hard it is to find, only the value

With as many trucks sold today in every make, and them being so popular, you can expect all truck values to be reduced faster than in the past.
2nd gen will go down also. Ford, Chevy, all of them.
There are too many trucks being sold. Supply and demand at work.
