Ok I feel better about the 650s now lol. Shooting for 2” so seems I’ll have quite a bit less preload which will potentially even out the stiffness.

Yeah I ended up about 3 inches lift myself in rear, hell I'm actually at 3 in front too at the moment but I'm taking it in Friday and we're going to back the front down a bit. Keep in mind my bed is also empty so I'm trying to get my rack/rtt on soon bc man this thing is bouncy empty lol.
    is that front or rear??..

Yeah imagine my case lol, I'm pushing 3 inches front lift bc I was led to believe a 700 was a good choice for my truck when I'm not so sure 650 wouldn't have been better. Its not a bad ride by any means but its stiff, you can just tell it's not what it should be due to light front end and preload being too much atm. Im backing them down later this week in Hope's of gaining some ride quality back and maybe cleaning up some vibrations even. I'm not going to freak out until I have every single thing set as is and will stay as far as weight and load capacity bc I've heard that once I get some weight on the bed with those hd springs then my ride will be much much better. Oh and meanwhile this is happening

They still charging just $160 for the install+parts? I don't have any vibrations, but I'm still considering the bushing swap for the peace of mind.

I honestly couldn't tell you, I was having mine regeared so it obviously made sense to let them do it.I actually just picked it up, feels smooth and good although I'm babying it around quite a bit. I'm not 100% sure but it almost seems like there is a light whine that sounds like it's from the rear end area.I wonder if driveshaft angles can cause something like this?I still have to make adjustments to my fronts and then see if I'm going to try some shims to get my angles better. Im going to go put a few highway miles in this evening bc if there did happen to be something that needs their attention I want it caught while I'm here and not 5 hours away at home.

I know you wrote it previously, but what are you using in the rear, aal or a whole new leaf pack?
I had a whine at approx 55 mph which was fixed by a tsb: new leafs and replacement cab mounts. It pretty much silenced it. Since then I replaced the leafs, but also put on Cooper St Maxx, so even if some whine came back, Coopers drown it out, lol.

Also, (@state48overland) while chasing a knock and a rub, I removed my sway bar. Holey crap, what a difference! It feels like I'm driving a fcking 90's Lincoln! Way smoother ride, but also bunch of body roll. Mind you, I'm sporting 650 lbs coils, and I still don't have a bumper yet, so not much weight to hold up front.
Some of local guys with Kings are running bar less, but they report less body roll, possibly because of 700 lbs coils holding up the weight better. And from what I understand, all or most of them have bumper/winch combos.

I just got to 500 miles on my new gears. I was told/warned by the installer that you will hear a whine noise while the gears are breaking in. Mine still make this noise but you have to listen real close now to hear it. Time for that gear oil change!

So going back to this topic since I misinformed you. Completely forgot that when I originally measured my Icon 3AAL I was at 1.5” lift (23.5” hub to fender) and then now I measured only 1” lift (23” hub to fender), I had my original OEM spare and now I have a full size BFG KO2 spare which most likely accounts for some of the sagging. Oops o_O

Hope it’s okay to change the subject a little. But I’m looking at making the switch from oem to Kings. I’m happy with the oem but need a little more height for some of the areas I go. I don’t go fast and am not usually on wash board roads. Anyone using just the entry level IFP front coil overs? https://camburg.com/shop/suspension/king-toyota-tacoma-pre-4wd-96-04-2-5-ifp-front-coilovers/

I feel like if I went more than that I wouldn’t ever really use them to the full potential. But I don’t want to regret not going all in when I have the chance.

    Thanks.

those are for 1st gen tacomas, the minimum that you can get for your Tacoma is the coilovers with reservoirs but no adjusters.

Oops. See that now. Been looking at so many options. I think some other brands offer a similar set up without reservoirs.

no worries, I've done the same thing before. Although it's nice to be pressured into getting reservoirs I agree that having an option without reservoir would be nice as well for those who don't need them.

Yeah, seems like we should be able to get the ride quality without the performance race set up. Unless, I’m totally not understanding suspensions.

Hey Seb-sounds like you're experiencing true independent suspension in the front now! Our last install for a friend, we did 650lb springs w/ RXT in the rear set at option 1. Adjusters at all 4 corners. Sway bar delete. Compression turned up to 10 in the front and 4 in the back to help reduce body roll. These settings feel pretty good. Without a sway bar, got to keep in mind the rear leaf pack on a truck will work harder. Real important to have quality leaf packs if you're rolling without a sway bar.

I think 700's have their place. Definitely need the overall weight to justify the same and a conservative lift height. If you are not up over 200+ lbs in the front, you may not like the way it will ride. Either get or use compression adjustability to control body roll before upping spring rate. Just my opinion and feedback from seeing the same.

This is something I'm heavily considering trying but I spend most time on the road and dont wan't to make enough body roll to be dangerous. I myself have the 700lb coils but I have a streamline bumper and winch so I'm a bit light for the coil load creating a bit of a stiff ride. I'm still planning quite a bit of additional weight to go on but not a lot in front of the cab but I am hoping it helps even tho most will be in rear and then the roof rack and whatever I load it with.Im gonna do some research more before I pull my sway bar yet.
Well I sure hope that's the case, I have to try to find something wrong to hear mine and honestly I'm not sure it has anything to do with the gears and may be the suspension itself but I'll be at the 500 mile point in a couple days as I have a 278 mile drive home today after install. I did do the REM polishing and east coast gear supply said this was the quietest tacoma they have done and they think that's why.

Just out of curiosity are you guys getting the spec height on your RXT leaf pack? What height are most of you at after a couple months of usage on option one and two?
