I think its totally personal preference. I have the mentality that if I am going to spend so much already on something I might as well get exactly what I want. From wheelers a king setup with TC UCA's is about $3,000 with no adjusters. Adjusters are $285 for the front or back....so $570 all the way around. That's not an insignificant amount! For most people they are probably unnecessary.. but Kings aren't really necessary for most either... at least in my case.

Either way if I were to buy again I would still get the adjusters. It adds a level of fun to be able to turn them up on large whoop sections or really dippy roads. I have bottomed out before on the soft setting, but I get the feeling u could jump the truck and be fine on the firmest. The clickers are really handy on the rear especially if you are hauling a load. Also being able to adjust the front up a few clicks on the road is nice for road cornering. The clickers offer a wide range of adjustment. Another good reason is if you plan on changing leaf packs down the road... nice to not have to send them in to get re-valved, just adjust till its ballpark.

I think @COdude3 mentioned that the clicker versions are valved a little softer, which you might want or not want. Another superficial reason is they look kinda cool and I get asked all the time about them.

I cant say if the non adjuster versions are soft enough on road since i don't own them. But i did run my clickers at half way for a while, and i found that i prefer them turned all the way to the softest setting. Just comes down to if you think $570 is worth it to you.

I'm pretty sure you can get them added on down the line as well if you find yourself really wanting them. I might do this one day when I have money to blow.

Until I decided to go LT, my original plan was to upgrade to adjusters when I got my shocks serviced. Since I plan to run bypasses, I held off on adjusters on my LT kings.

Yep, King told me they valve shocks with adjusters a little softer. I went with adjusters because I wanted to fine adjust my settings for different terrain. For me, the extra $500 dollars was not a big deal (and I didn't tell the wife), but everyone is on a different budget. I've had the shocks on less than a week and right now I'm running front and rear full soft.

I think the verdict is in, clickers it is. Going to be pairing this with Icon billet UCAs. Thanks everyone!

You will not be disappointed. My only complaint is adjusting spring preload on the fronts. The darn hose connection and frame bracket make it impossible to get complete turns. The only things I haven't tried is King's t-handle with the bent end and jamming a screwdriver in the collar slot. I really do not want to have to take the shocks off to adjust them.

Get the T-handle man, worth the money. Especially if you think you might be adding weight later on.

IMG_3415.jpg Quick question guys! I installed my coilovers last weekend I slightly rub when only turning slowly. I seen on YouTube that people adjust the coilovers without removing it from the vehicle. The instructions say to remove the coilovers, adjust and than install again. I don't want to remove my coilovers if you can do it with them still on the truck. This looks like the best place to ask this question. Thanks guys appreciate it

You should read through this thread especially while it's still short... there is some good information for you, and this question had been answered many times. The short answer is yes you can adjust the coilovers on the truck. You may want to have an alignment first though if you haven't already. Ask the tech to put in a little extra positive caster as this will eliminate the rub through the entire suspension stroke. Unless you are running 285s most people have to do some trimming regardless.

Like Wyant said, just read through this for a lot of good info. But yes you can. But do not remove the Allen bolt all the way. That's where I messed up, the force of the spring cause the collar nut to jump a thread. Had a hell of a time fixing that. So just loosen it, and start turning (you don't have enough room as you'll find out and will need a spanner wrench or the "t-handle tool from king) and remember to lift the truck off the ground to get weight off the coilovers. Good luck

Thanks guys appreciate the info! I did all that and still wasn't able to adjust the coilover. Will need the spammer wrench

I'm still trying to find a solution to the same problem. I ordered the King t-handle adjuster (with the bent end) and hope it will give just a little more turn on the collar to pass the hose and give access to the next collar hole. I'll let you know how it works.

^^ Just get a flat punch or the supplied wrench/rod, place it on the side of a hole on the collar and hit it slightly with a hammer. It should turn enough to clear the next hole for you to use the supplied wrench again to turn some more.

It's a little tedious, but better than removing the assembly and guess at how much to turn.

The King T-handle does the job. Hated spending $40, but I was able to get access to the collar holes and adjust the preload. I added 3 turns. Wheel to fender is 22.25", giving me 2.75" of down travel, full droop is 25"; Kings added about 0.5" more travel over stock 24.5". I'm going to run this for awhile - the truck sits level. Getting an alignment on Friday. Still running all setting at full soft.
