With these 1.5-3 lift shocks does the bump stop need to be moved up a little?
I’m right at 1.5 inches of lift in the rear with icon RXT stage 1 with my steel bumper have a u bolt flip with super bumps waiting to go on.
Just not sure what route to go with the shocks since it’s either 0-1.5 or 1.5-3 and I’m right at that 1.5 mark

prob a dumb question but these shocks aren’t cheap

100% agree, good quality stuff aint cheap. If you went with the 1.5-3" rear shocks, we would recommend our 1.75" inch spacer which can be accomplished using our "one size fits all" u-bolt flip & bump stop kit. Its hard to compare ours to other kits, since we account for the foam bump stop being able to be compressed almost all the way. Other brands unfortunately don't list their bump stop compressed lengths. Stock rubber for example, hardly budge at all creating a harsh bottom out. You may need to do some measuring to see how your bump stops compare to our chart.

Looking at the EXT fronts, does anyone know what the preset factory lift is? Would like to get around 1.7" of lift and trying to see if I can run these out of box or have to take into account taking it into a shop to get them adjusted

You can easily adjust them yourself and play with the settings to get exactly what you’re after

I would stick to the specs King or a good off-road shop recommend. Following top hat to center bolt at ride height etc.

For those running a 2” front lift. About how much threads do you have exposed? I am running 600lb springs. No bumper, just sliders and a front skid plate. I understand every setup is different, just trying to get an idea when I start adjusting preload.

Measure your top hat to center bolt King Spec sheet says to keep it at 21” at ride height. I’m at 20.5. Take a Hub to fender measurement https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/preload-adjustments-on-oem-fit-coilovers/

Trying to refit my shocks after a rebuild and installing king’s shaft guards on the rears. The guard doesn’t fit on the driver side…that is if you want to run it facing forward…it contacts the axle. Running it backwards seems pointless. I’ll probably scrap these and find a universal guard kit. The only other solution I can think of is heating the plastic and trying to reshape it a bit.

Anyone else using these have a similar issue?

I got these 0-1.5 inch kings, rear is probably close to stock height
    Icon RXT stage 1
    Weight-
High clearance style bumper with swing out and 37 inch spare mounted
Fiberglass bed cover that is very light

    left with this..
    IMG_3284.jpg
    almost no uptravel

shocks will bind before bump stop even gets close to frame..
    IMG_3286.jpg

Any recommendations on what to do? I could lift and extend the bump stops but I got these shocks to avoid having to lift my truck higher. I was also under the impression that these would not need bump stops to be raised since they aren’t the 1.5-3?

    Any advice is appreciated

    Added pics to last post^

Should I lift my truck more to make these shocks work or just get rid of them?

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rear-kings-have-no-uptravel.865679/

I have RXT leaf pack and can go from option 1 to 3, as well as u bolt flip kit with super bumps (would need to raise the bump stop multiple inches)

front is king coils with currently almost no preload that I can raise

Have you looked at your leaf/shackles/hangers to see if the issue isn’t there? From my (limited) experience, the shocks shouldn’t be a factor with ride height, but I agree, something doesn’t look right. From the pics you’ve posted, your leaf look/ pretty flattened, and your weight seems pretty heavy for a stage 1.

Hmm you’re not wrong, I’ll try installing going up to stage 3 next week and then see how things are looking

also. I suggest removing the shocks and seeing if you can compress them by hand/body weight to ensure they’re not leaking or blown.

what’s that yellow marking on the shock body about?

definitely not blown haha, took everything I had to get them to compress.

not sure what the yellow is for, previous owner used a paint marker on it for some reason. will probably clean that off next time i'm under
