That's my dilemma. Seems only Down South has that option, and intrigues me a lot. I'm just not 100% sure if thats really such a great idea. Hence looking for some input

I have compression adjusters on all sides and love them. And especially paired up with the 95r in the rear they run really nice! Run my rear at the softest setting.

This whole time I’ve thought I couldn’t run them. Guess I’m saving up for Dakar’s now. :spending:

I'm pretty sure @Braves95 and few others run Dakars without extended rears. Not sure if it limits droop or not, or if there are any safety concerns. @Downsouth Motorsports were tagged about it previously, but I don't think they replied.
I'm choosing Dakars, because Deavers are waaay more expensive, above my budget...

Yeah man I thought the same. But I run about 250-300lbs of constant weight in the rear so I don’t know if that makes a difference or not.

Does anyone know the collapsed and extended measurements for the extended travel REAR King shocks? Or is it like the fronts where a spacer is removed and it add's like a 1/4" for extra travel?

    P/N: 25001 - 121A - EXT

    Thanks

Like the fronts and the spacer is removed. Not 100% sure on the additional travel but I thought it was 1”

Thanks, do you know if it's extended on the collapse or extension or maybe a combo of both?

The collapsed length is the same but the extended is longer so it’ll allow more articulation. Which essentially gives you more travel length.

Looks like the extended length is 25.133” and collapsed 16.541”

That’s just based on the black and white via DSM’s website. All in all a 1” difference.

Hella stoked my rear set finally arrived. Ordered them on March 6, and they just came in yesterday. Looking forward to getting them installed, but the lift kit for my wife’s 4Runner came in last week, so that project takes priority.

Same here, initially had my front coilovers in March since they had them in stock, been sitting on them a bit while waiting on the UCA’s and rear leaf packs to get delivered, stoked to get started as all the suspension components are finally in.

So worth the wait. There expensive and take a while to get. But 100% worth it.

I'm running 95R Dakars with the extended rears, works fine and has plenty of articulation. Plus these are IFS trucks, if I want more articulation I will jump in my 80 series Land Cruiser with factory lockers and solid axles. I chose the Dakars over the Deavers as well and it wasn't about the money either. I spoke to several people and wanted the overload springs of the Dakars to carry more weight in the rear, the Deavers flex more but also sag more with a load.

Almost seems like the grease didn't get out on the poly bushings during install. I did a prothane bushing kit on an old mustang long ago and it sounded just like that. It never went away the couple years I drove the car afterwards. This was before they came with that lube.
