I'd find other shops if your local shops can't service Kings. Shocks are shocks. They all have basic setups internally and externally. It's like a tire shop can't buy BFGs but they can only get you Falkens because their tread patterns are more common to them. GTFO

For whatever reason, most of the shops here love ICON, OME, Radflo, etc. I like local shops because it allows me to have a local expert and faster turn around. I know Dirty Deeds, among others, can service shocks. Just sharing as to "why" I would make my decision. The final purchase/decision hasn't been made yet.

    Thank you for your insight.

I take it that's all they know and probably afraid to venture outside their comfort zone for Kings, Fox, or ADS. Parts shouldn't be hard to find or service. Not hear to argue with ya either

Hey Guys.....going to pull the trigger tomorrow on a Baja kits chase kit - their UCA and extended travel kings.

For those of you that have gone this route, what amount of lift did you get in the front and what AAL did you use in the rear?
Was looking at the Deaver from headstrong but wasn’t sure if you all recommended something different as a better match for the extended kings.

Also, are you guys dropping your diffs or leaving st stock height?

Thanks a ton for the insight!

Doesn’t the chase kit come with a deaver mini leaf pack? Raises the rear about an inch.

Hey so the Kit does not include a deaver, but they give the option of going with a deaver mini leaf pack (f85). That is what I did, its suppose to give you 1.5 inch of lift.

Now if I could do it all over I would do a few things differently...Firstly I would make sure you get the right spring rate...i think the standard is 600 and not sure if they offer anything else, but I would at least ask. I did not now about spring rate options and how it would affect ride height/sag when adding weight to the truck. I added a SSO slimline bumper with a winch and have noticed a significant sag on the front. I have already purchased 700 king springs and need to swap em out now.

Also Im not sure if its just that we were not on level ground or what but when I met with @Willtaco we noticed his rear was about an inch higher than mine and for sure his front was higher (he has same set up as me but with 700s...)

So make sure you dont make my mistake and ask/get everything you want right the first time...

Once I install my new 700s I will have to assess whether or not I need to upgrade the leaf pack as well.

Also took me over 10 weeks to receive my kit, but it was worth the wait.

P.S I also wish I would have taken pre lift measurements.

Overall Im happy with the ride quality but not so much with the height...(I also have not messed with the preload, which could probably adjust the front height, but I'd rather just get stronger coilovers)

    Thanks Thorian.

Did you already have your bumper when you first installed?

Also, what are your thoughts on diff drop - needed?

I’m kinda on the same boat. Love the ride quality but wish the height was a lil bit higher.

I maxed the front out to the safest possible without sacrificing the ride quality but looking to purchase a new leaf pack to raise the rear.

I should probably go with 700lb coils also. How much were the coils @Thorian and did you go through Kings? Thx

I did not have a bumper initially.

About diff drop, I'm not sure as I dont have a lot of knowledge on the subject.

I got them from Wheelers off road.
I also contacted Deaver and they said they could possibly add something if i bring the leaf pack in for about $150, other option im looking at is putting my overload leaf back on.

Just pulled the trigger on extended Kings with UCAs for the front. Plan is to level front and keep rear stock height with stock leafs for now (extended Kings on rear). Before I install front, what is the setting for 1" lift (it's coming with 700 lb springs)?

Would it be safe to preload the driver's side 2 extra threads? Stock truck definitely has taco lean by almost an inch.

Hey guys just got 2.5’s extended with adjusters in the front. I’m noticing something strange. When I ride over speed bumps or big bumps the front seems to be extremely stiff when coming down and feels like the shocks have no compression. Is this normal for the kings? I had fox 2.5 and that surely didn’t happen.
