So now that the 3rd gens are hitting the lots and becoming available, anyone plan to utilize any of the 3rd gen parts on the 2nd gens? I was looking at the mirrors and they seem like they offer a larger field of vision, might be able to swap them over. Also we might be able to use the TBL that now offers the cargo lamps integrated in it. I might keep an eye out on a set of 3rd gen offroad take off wheels, might look good on my MGM 2nd gen.

TBL looks too big for the 2nd gen

Anyone think that there is a chance the front windshield I the same as our trucks? From all the pictures the rear window is identical and since the cab didn't change much im thinking the front could be as well. I have read and watched videos that it is a new acoustical windshield to help combat cabin noise, well mine now has a crack in it from some road construction last week. So curious if I could replace it with the 3rd gen windshield and maybe gain some added advantages.

I would imagine a 2nd gen windshield is cheaper and fits perfectly.

I know that but if I could put in something better, why not?

I'm curious what you think is better about a '16s windshield.

That would probably work if you changed the rest of the bed skin. :p

^^ YES! That was exactly what I asked in one of the 3rd gen threads. Bedsides and tailgate...though that might mean a new box, too.

I'm going to get the seals for the doors of 3rd gen and put them on my 2nd gen. The outer seals actually to help with road noise and also the rubber flap in between the bed and cab of 3rd gen was well to help reduce road noise

I believe the seatbelt buckles are backwards compatible!

Good idea! I was also thinking the mirrors as well. They offer a larger field of vision and I bet they will bolt up to our doors.
