    Hello,

Are there still not any decent engine mods for the 2GR- FKS aside from the OV tune? No intake manifold porting/ pre made manifolds, headers that dont cause a CEL, or atleast something that makes a difference that doesnt include forced induction? Ive looked around quite a bit with no luck, but I thought y'all might know of something I don't since I'm fairly new to the tacoma scene!

forced induction is your best bet for any real performance gain.

Like I said though, without forced induction. Kinda hard to believe, there has to be something beneficial besides forced induction. OV tune is an option for me if there is someone in KY willing to do it, but just looking for something else to help compliment the OV tune.

Is there a way to go about using URD catless headers and keeping my CEL off? Wouldnt do much for power most likely but I'd say itd sound decent.

Welcome to TW. I had ov tune and it didn’t make a huge difference on my 2021 (20-21 have a newer ecu then older model) but I just got the kdmax tune and if is absolutely amazing.

like eurowner said. Weight is the next best thing to engine power. Dump the spare and remove anything else that is in the truck that you dont need.

Imo, these v6 gen3's aren't all that slow to begin with. For crying out loud, they are a 4wd 4,500 lb mid-size truck, not a v8 sports car.

More power/tq without changing hardware is going to be limited. The tune tunes available will do a noticable job of making good use of the power available and fill in the dips in the tq curve in addition to improving overall transmission and engine drivability. Toyota (and all auto manufacturers) have squeezed out maximum efficiency while meeting emissions and reliability targets. Maximum efficiency = maximum power on a NA engine, within negligible amounts, so you can be reasonably confident that there is very little power left on the table without modifying hardware, changing cams, heads, pistons, etc. Things like high flow air filters and manifold/TB spacers will do nothing measurable in terms of gains despite the manufacturers claims. They will do some other things, though.

I guess if you have some fabrication skills, money, and time you can always put an LS engine in it.

Wait, are you saying of replacing a "car" engine with another "car engine"?

There are endless variations of the "LS" engine, a bunch of which were made for trucks.
