How long did this take, man?

I plan on doing the same set up as you, I had it pictured in my mind and when I saw yours I was sold. I'm not a fan of taking the grill off and risking 'breaking' something cause I am no body pro.

So was it tedious or difficult to get the paper behind the grill?

What brand dip did you use, how many cans, any clear coat spray on top of dip?

    Thanks again bro!

    Looks perfect.

Did you take grill off, or tape off with paper?

Pulled it off and apart. Sprayed black paint on the silvery bits behind the grill too.

It was also my first time. Used plastidip. No overcoat with the clear but would definitely recommend it as the color fades a little in the sun and the clear coat helps prevent that and makes it easier to wash.

Was really easy to get the paper behind the grill there is a ton of room in there. Taping the front lines took a while. Also had to lightly run a razor along edges when taking it off to prevent lifting/peeling up. Has held up great. Use pressure washer regularly to wash and have no issues. 6 coats. 1-2 cans. Hope this helps.

I would either look on here on the 3rd GEN for sale forum, or go directly to your Toyota dealership. But I will tell you the n-fabs that you have on our $390, and like I said the predators are like 650.

So for all you that have dipped your grills, how is it going up to the weather and the bugs? Along with washing the bugs off?
I know my buddy dipped his 12' grill and ended up taking it off cause the bugs were a pain to get off. He didn't use a gloss/ clear coat or what have it after he dipped it. So does it hold up better after a protection coat is applied?
    Thank you.

    In the planning stage
I dipped mine with about 10 coats and 2 coats of the glossifier. I also use this after cleaning it and so far so good, holding up nicely. If I have to remove to redo I'll just have it painted at a body shop.6b33160a5b30d237d3f1626cb0589cf6_9bd22479c06ea373774c96e685ababe7c8eafd19.jpg

This, that, & the other thing
    You've got a great name!

To everyone else. Power washed mine today very hard and it's still clinging to my grille. We'll see what kind of damage the bugs of summer can do.

Looks great Utzsmith. Personally, I like the dipped badge, too. Any chance you can provide more detail and tips on removing grill?
