Did you tape off or peel the bars in the grill? I was undecided and just dipped the whole thing except for the emblems. Debating on peeling to look like yours.

I dipped a set of wheels on my previous car. I took the wheels off, cut a hole the same diameter as the rims in a large piece of butcher paper, to mask the tires, and masked the inside of the rim with butcher paper as well. I did at least four coats, as I was concerned that the smooth finish in the rims wouldn't hold the plastidip. It held up great.

How did you remove the emblem?

I just saw a video on dipyourcar.com and they just taped around the letters and sprayed 4 coats, the. Just peel the dip off the paint coame right off in vid. Kind of like the glue on postal ads that you just rub off in a ball.
Going to head to HD soon to get a can and try it out.

I sprayed them and made sure to hit them from several different angles to get all the nooks and crannies.

I just cleaned them and plastidipped the front side. The backside got a lot of overspray, but I don't think it will peel or be a problem. I've been through the car wash twice since doing my rims and have no peeling. They still look great!

I taped it. Not too bad. Did 6 coats and just lightly ran razor along edges of tape before peeling.

Thank you. I appreciate all of your advice. The blue is a little off but not enough to matter.

Well after watching a u tube videp this morning I went to home cheapo and bought a couple cans. I did the ketters first as described in the video where you tape around them and leave a gap and it will just peel off. Wrong! I scraped for a long time with a qtip stick and plastic knife, some of the finish came off the letters so they will have to be redone. Might try brushing or I will tape in and arojnd the letters. Maybe itll clean up better when it cures.
So after I got thru with letters I did the grill and ring. 6 coats and will be ready for install tomorrow.

Looks damn good! It's amazing how much different/better the sport rims look all black. You won't regret it. I've gotten more compliments in the past few weeks (with rims dipped) than I had since October.
Should've done your calipers red or white while you had them off.
