@KTJO 4x4 Thanks for getting the issue I had sorted quickly. Thanks for putting in the hours!

 

I just installed mine on Saturday and it was SUPER easy thanks to all @KTJO 4x4 's hard work on this kit. I do have one question...

When running the wires up the passenger side I noticed that when I got to the muffler, the wires I was following were wrapped in heat shielding. Should I get some for the wires I am running or just tuck them in behind the existing ones and use them as a shield.

 

That is what I did, tuck them behind. Or even if you can, run them on the outer side of the frame (where possible) to keep the wires away from as much heat as possible. I will probably give mine a look over once we get some real summer going to see if there's any further abatement necessary to keep the insulators in the right place.

Well I took my actuator off from my first install three years ago to get ready to convert mine to the Tailgate Lock / Tailgate Opener and I noticed that there has been a couple changes over the years.





First, the tip of the Actuator has been adjusted from white to black. I guess there must have been a lot of people complain about those white tips. Second thing I noticed was that they switched the wires from side to side. Why? I have no idea. Should be interesting to see if that plays a role in my install or not. Not that it will be a big deal. I’ll just flip the wires if I have to, but I just found it interesting. Sorry, don’t mind my flex wrap and heat shrink, I’m getting my personal dual Actuators and Integrated Harness w/ JST Connectors all ready to install on my truck maybe tomorrow. Then I’m going to remove the old harness from underneath that I installed a long time ago when it was like negative degree weather on the east coast. Lol. Plus, I think I’ve learned a little bit more today about wiring than I knew back then so it will be nice to make it look a bit more professional.
