I had a howl/vibe last year that I couldn’t pin point, finally my local 4x4 shop found it, told me about it, and I took it to Toyota and they replaced my right rear wheel bearing under warranty. Fixed all noise/ vibes

The electronics look like they are from 1999. Going from a Yukon to a Landcruiser makes more sense. I've seen them heavily discounted in the NE.

Agreed. Mentioning the infotainment system was my polite way of getting at the electronics and dash being dated but I’m careful to try not to be critical of anyone’s ride. :). My wife really likes the T4R.

I got in a new T4R last week, and after being in the 2018 Tacoma, I agree... the runner visuals and layout instantly felt "old".

That’s my issue with it. Not to dog the second gen Taco (I had one and loved it) but that’s a second gen interior in BAD need of an update. But, as bad as it needs it, the Lexus GX needs it worse. That dash layout on the GX is just plain ugly.

What exactly does this sound like? Is it truly a howl...like knobby tires, or is there vibration involved. I don’t think I have this issue given I haven’t noticed with 38k miles on the truck

I almost hate to tell you what to look for because once I do, your life may never be the same. My best advice would be to stop reading this thread and go watch a movie. LOL. Between 52-62 many people hear a higher pitched howl/whining noise. It’s hard to describe but almost like a tire howl when changing to a different type of pavement. You hear it mostly when you feather the throttle lightly at one of this speeds. Let off the throttle gently and gently reapply and I bet it’s there. My sweet spot was about 53-54 prior to the TSB and about 56-58 post TSB but it’s also about 75% better now.

I don’t hear anything and I’m lifted with armor and have changed ALL my fluids already and have used all the 4wd modes too

I also like the T4R. Has enough power, no gear hunting like the Tacoma + a 3rd row when I need it. I actually like the 1999 dash and electronics as it's less to break down. I don't need LDA, Radar. Looks like you live in a warm climate. If so, you would probably not feel the needle bearing as it wears out. I notice it every December when it's 5 F and it's gets replaced.

From what I read Toy sold 120,000 T4R last year and they don't seem to be in a hurry to change. It's the oldest vehicle in the line up with out a refresh. Only body-on-frame SUV left.

2020 for the update as best as I can tell. It will likely be a 2021 model. I like them but would like a bigger infotainment system and CarPlay. Geez, that Entune.....

Would be hard to spend 80k on a Land Cruiser and have to deal with Entune.
