I had that on my first attempt with my 2018. On the next trip I insisted that the service adviser ride along so I could recreate the sound for them. Same with the service manager at another dealer, he had a hard time recreating the issue so we switched drivers. Seems once we get this sound our feet can recreate it easily, but others have a hard time. You may want to speak directly with the service manager and it would be a good thing to open a case with Toyota as well to keep it documented.

Man, I don't know how you could miss the noise... It's ridiculous at around 57 mph, and super easy to recreate (just drive from 50-60 mph).

Had my rear diff replaced at 3,800 miles as y’all know that stayed quiet for about 30 miles. Went in last week to discuss with the service mgr and the regional mgr. we decided to preform the TSB that replaces the leaf springs, body mounts and other things. Took the truck in yesterday and picked it up earlier today. The whining between 50-60mph is 90% better. Wasn’t expecting this to help as much as it does. So I’m satisfied with the fix.

Wow, how did you get them to do the TSB?? Did they update it for the 19s yet?

What’s your build date? Per an engineer mine had the TSB components installed on the factory floor, yet it’s very noisy

Build date is June 19, before they replaced the diff at 3,800 miles they said that it had the TSB so they replaced the rear diff. The regional rep said that it didn’t have it so that’s when they ordered the parts and installed today. Mine is a Mexico build, so not sure if that matters. But it’s 90% better now, so who knows

Good to know, thanks for sharing. My truck (1/2019 build) does not have the TSB installed.

Man that's awesome for you... 90% better. Wow.

    Thanks for the quick response
I’ll have to check my build date when it’s out of the body shop. Per the regional rep/engineer, mine had it done at factory. Mine’s a Texas build bought in April of 19

The 16 I had was worse than the 19 I have now. Just decide to push the issue on this truck to see how it would play out. Glad i did now. Good luck with yours

Ah shiiiiit girl you know I do. More than most, probably.

Nothing quite like the solitude of the deep forest, or the excitement of finding some place like this all to yourself

Haven’t been in a while though. Snow gets deep in AK, and my factory goodyears have run out of tread. Cannot wait for summer adventures

Differential replaced once, but whine is just as loud as before. My dealership won’t do anything unless I bring in something to verify acknowledgment by Toyota that further action can be done to reduce the noise. You by chance didn’t get anything that verifies the issue on 2019 ORs did you? Maybe an update TSB number?

I would prefer explore this option before tearing the backseats out and putting Nioco on the cab wall with a likely marginal effect, if any.

before they replaced the differential they tried to say my bed cover was causing the whine noise... so this tells me they will find any excuse to ignore it.
