    Nice.....

The factory Goodyear's are junk. Mine lasted almost 27k.... And I wasn't driving them hard. Replaced em with Falkens. Win.

    Also

Anyone in here have a 2.7L? I had a 16 SR and a 17 SR5, didn't notice the whine until the 18 Sport (wrecks that weren't my fault. I'm not a habitual trader lol)

It’d be nice for the poll to have cab sizes and trims. I think it’s mostly a double cab issue, and mostly off-roads.

Double cabs with the DB22 differential seem to all have it. The noise is just a quirk of that specific differential. I think the next poll should be the highest success rate of suppressing it, not getting rid of it . I think Toyota has made it clear that they’re done entertaining us the hope of fixing it and are taking on the “you get what you got attitude”.

I paid a visit to my service rep today and showed him the cab mounts my truck has versus the ones that are supposed to be on there if 2019s came from the factory with the TSP already installed. They seemed agitated and told me I needed to contact corporate and convince them to proceed with installing the TSB parts. I called corporate voiced my concerns and what I found, they started a case file took my information and are supposed to get back to me. At this point I don’t have very high hopes but before I tear in to my truck on my own I will at least know exhausted all options first.

Yea that sucks, don’t understand why some dealers are fighting this. Guess I’m one of the fortunate ones that has a good relationship with my dealer. Hope everything works out.

I know for a fact that my truck does not have the TSB-prescribed damper mounts. I don't know if it has the updated leaf springs since I don't know a way of checking the part numbers on them.

Strange that Toyota has yet to extend the TSB to 2019s and 2020s, yet many of these trucks aren't coming with the TSB fix from the factory.

Here’s a weird data point for you guys. I had a 2018 DCOR. Traded it after just a couple months. Bad howl but with a summer 2018 build date. Dealer said according to my VIN, my truck came with the tsb already applied. So, clearly they started applying the tsb from the factory.

Well, they got under the truck and discovered it did NOT have the new cab mounts. So, they did the tsb. Didn’t fix the problem.

So, did they quit doing the tsb from the factory at some point?

I wonder if they just added the cab mounts or did the entire TSB in your case? I think there were three components to it: cab mounts, leaf springs, and strategically placed foam damper pads behind the rear seats.

If they truly did the TSB to the letter then it should have reduced the noise.

Yeah mine has like 4 gold washers on it. Would send a pic but she’s terminally ill in the body shop

And mine is pretty noisy. TSB has mixed results

Strange that they dont have the updated springs on a 19. My 18 DCSB OR had the new part number springs (according to the dealer) and supposedly the cab mounts with dampeners, but they replaced the cab mounts anyway per the TSB to try and reduce the whine. Guess I was lucky as the service manager I worked with didnt seem to waste any time and they were willing to try things like the TSB swap. At the time I thought they were jerking me around, but hearing people having more difficult issues ith their dealers, I guess mine wasnt so bad.

There were some comments early in the thread, IIRC, that stated the whine went away after a lift and bigger tires. Although not everyone wants to lift..

Yea I don’t understand why some have the updated parts and some don’t. Just wish the dealers were on the same page

Unfortunately Toyota doesn't run the dealerships at all, so consistency is going to be tough

It probably has to do with they have X amount of springs in stock. Whether they are the latest design or not, they are probably used until the stock runs out. My 18 was a TX truck, but I have seen many in the thread mention having the new stuff on MX trucks as well. Everything at my local dealers lately have all been MX trucks.

Depending on the age of your truck, I believe the part number is spray painted on one of the leafs. Cant remember if it is the leaf facing the bed or the ground. Like this example: [IMG]

I know for some trucks, the leafs are not included in the TSB, just the spacers and cab mounts. I was ready to have a big fight with my dealer when he told me that they were not replacing the leafs. He showed me that for my truck, the TSB did not include new leafs. I have a DCLB TRDOR 4wd.

These are the drivers side springs on mine. Look to be the newer TSB ones. So I don't have the TSB cab mount dampers, but do have the new springs. o_O
