Fair enough. It's hard to tell. So many people on this forum seem to think that Toyota owes them something more than a properly functioning truck.

I have over 20k, mine started around 1k but doesnt seem to be any worse. After reading about all the rear end replacements without any results I'm starting to think maybe carrier bearing.

Let my local Toyota dealership have the truck for a while during its 20k service due to the fact I'm on travel for work. Told my service manager to take it out to lunch and drive it around, feathering the throttle down from 60-55mph. Got a call back today that everything is done, and that the mechanics diagnosed the howling rear diff as "coming from the rear tires". I run Duratracs on my TRDOR. Frustrated because I know this is not the cause, but even if I switch tires they will blame it on my shell/canopy.

Just going to have to wait until corporate acknowledges the problem & releases a TSB.

FTS contacted me today said TSB still planned but was delayed. he did not go into specifics and did not offer any...but said he expects it to hit dealers in the Feb-Mar time frame

Thank you for reporting back on that. Seriously.

I'm a patient person but waiting for something with no estimate of a date is pretty hard.

Have it, doesn't bother me yet. In a 1980s vehicle is would be normal and expected. Its a bit abnormal by todays standards, but not something I'm going to get upset about as long as it doesn't get worse. I have less than 1000 miles on my ACLB 6spd manual.

Yes they've been posted. It's normal and what you'd expect for a 1985 ford tempo

    More like a decision maker.

Why the hate, man? Smitty is one of the few making this the truck that you fan about. Show some respect and appreciation.

I call like I see em 20 seconds of road noise and air whooshing doesn't = a shit storm over Toyota quality, I have had 4 Toyota trucks all had a certain level of driveline noise this posted vid is ridiculous, even if you paid over 40k for the vehicle its still a TRUCK and has certain noises that are considered normal and will not hamper the performance or long term durability, if you read into Smittys long litany of issues in his expert opinion should not have occurred its quite ridiculous really. if you want a totally quiet vehicle an Offroad TRD Pickup is not what you should have bought

Some are louder than others. I can hear mine over the radio and I listen to my music loud. It's not a problem that's just in his head.

It would be beneficial if you try to find a way to respond intelligently and respectful.

I'm not trying to be condescending, but your responses and posts are infantile. I hope you don't take that the wrong way. I really wish the best for you. You should be proactive about your ignorance and seek some advice or education.

Perhaps your parents can help? If not, maybe the state? FCOL.
