Now I need a go and drive my truck and see if that howl/whine happens between 5th and 6th gear.

I do notice when I feather the throttle causing between 50-65mph.

Frustrating that all of us are stuck hearing this crap. Thanks guys for putting in leg work to get this documented. I'll be letting my next scheduled appointment @ 10k know about this.

Mine is a very sharp high pitched whine at exactly 61 mph. It is different than the sound clips posted here. It also sounds like it comes from somewhere in front of the drivers position. If I turn my head towards the rear of the truck the sound gets quiter. Fingers crossed.

I'd like to see the TSB PDF before I get excited. It seems like this one is a bust--and its a heat shield issue with manual tranny tacos. It doesn't even sound like they are addressing the same concern as we all have. (which is even more frustrating..you'll fix that?? Some BS heat shield manual tranny issue no one has complained about, but not this major issue that hundreds of people on TW are complaining about?? JFC)

I have a strange sound as described above. Seems like a good TSB to me. I mean afterall the Auto TSBs it's only fair that we get one.

I just crossed 1000 miles on my 2017 TRD Sport automatic. No whine at all on decel until about 1000. Now it is very noticeable around 50 to 55mph. Only on decel.. if I add any throttle to hold steady speed or accelerate, the whine stops.

Complained to my dealer about the whine at 55-60 mph. They said the noise was coming from the rear differential. I just had the diff replaced on Monday and there's been a slight reduction in the whine. It's less, but still noticeable. It's such a hassle going to the dealer. Any suggestions?

That sucks that it was replaced and already have the widespread howling noise return again, hopefully they come up with a fix for this.

Call Corporate and tell them that a new diff. didn't solve the problem (they'll want you to get it documented again from the service department), and then go out and enjoy your truck. If/when a fix is released you can go back and get it taken care of. The main thing is just to get it documented in case problems arise as a result of whatever is causing the noise after the warranty period ends.

I haven't heard shit on this TSB I was hoping they'd say something by March so I'll be contacting the regional FTS again by end of this month.

I am curious if that transmission shield insulator TSB will do anything at all for it even though l doubt it will.

I'm dropping my truck off on the week of the 12th while I'll be on work travel. Dealership has to replace my instrument gauges, check out the squealing brakes, and address a couple of other odds and ends (shakes and rattles). Maybe I will hear something after that.

Inferior, poor quality Chinese steel has infiltrated worldwide markets.Sourcing cheap steel from Communist China and fabricating units in 3rd world countries with low skilled labor. What could possibly go wrong? It's all coming home to roost with US consumers stuck holding the bag.

Safety concerns over Chinese steel flooding world markets. An oversupply of Chinese steel is plaguing industries worldwide .The Australian Steel Institute and the Welding Technology Institute of Australia say some of the fabricated steel entering the country has serious quality defects.

Claims in Australia that not only are Chinese steel imports killing the local industry, they may end up killing locals by being of inferior quality.
