Yes. No it will not be Plug-N-Play. It will be a DIY kit that will come with instructions unless you send me your mirrors and I install it for you. This kit will work for you and everyone else as you get to use your own OEM Mirrors if you’d like to do so. Basically, the process that is involved is taking your OEM Mirrors apart like I have shown to do and removing the stock Connection Plate by removing the hinge Spring and installing the new Connection Plate with the motor. You will need to have the bottom of your hinge look like the following photo for this to work as well.

    32426C36-C793-4587-8497-9705D81655A9.jpg

Once you remove the spring from your hinge, you will be left with this

    457BCB85-0CEA-4F49-AF74-5F12556D2F9F.jpg

All you do at this point is install the New Connection Plate with the Motor and then use the 3 Screws to re-connect the Hinge. Then you will need to run the two new Motor wires however you choose. The motor wires will need to plug into the Replacement OEM Switch. That is all! Now for the Replacement OEM Switch, I’m hoping to have a new Panel to replace the one currently in our Door Panel. You will pop the Switch in its location, plug the new harness connector you get from me into the Switch, plug the OEM Connector into the new harness, plug the new Powerfold Controller into the New Harness, and finally connect all of the wires to their designated location that will need to tap into factory wiring in order to work properly. When I get my truck, I will have this be another one of the writeups on the first page of this thread to show you.

Yes. They will fold in when the doors are locked automatically and when the doors are unlocked they will fold out. Then when you are in the truck and you randomly would like to fold in your mirrors, you have the switch for that :) Great question. As for your second question, I have not looked into that so at this time I will not be able to answer that question.

Does it have to fold in automatically every time or can you do it manually when you choose so instead?

I do not believe it can but I will have to see when I connect it and install them. However, why would you not just use the switch?

MOST importantly, can we program these mirror motors to “wave” at all other Tacos when we pass them on the road?

I was thinking about the middle of winter with the truck being buried in ice, if it tried to fold or unfold automatically l am guessing would tear up the motors

Many other cars have these motors and have no issues in the winter (my other household vehicle, for example).

That's the switch I'm interested in. Cleanest install. Dremel and a brand new blade on a utility knife and surgeon steady hands, shouldn't be too bad. I can imagine a new switch panel would be expensive!

Just checked out my mirrors. I have the white adjuster actuator and the same hinge spring! Hopefully those black ones are rare so everyone can take advantage of your mod.

@KTJO 4x4, Any closer to offering the DIY kit and giving us a price?
