About 7 months ago I purchased the Amazon/Ebay TRD Pro knockoff fog lights with bezels for around $100. $500 for the real deal just seemed like too much for what they are. The knockoffs Bezels fit ok, brackets work perfect, lights look good, though the light output for driving leaves a lot be desired.
Searching for the real deal rigid light replacements, came to realize I was going to be paying waay too much for something plug and play, even used. Stumbled across the 2021-2024 ford f150 raptor fog light - familiar with this setup? Instead of two Rigid fog lights, there are four. The fog light look almost identical to the trd pro fog. Kept on eye on eBay and picked up a used left side fog setup with two lights for $130 to compare. The fog lights are almost identical, with the only real difference being the light adjustment. Even the raptor light cover snaps on the same for both. Thinking I’ll modify my brackets to accommodate for the raptor fogs - any interest out there in seeing a write up for this?

The raptor Rigid fog lights, yes - want to be specific as everytime I type in “Raptor fog lights” on this forum it has returned the three amber lights in the grille. Hard pass on that (no offense! )

Yeah, me too. Because me thinks the trd pro lights leave a lot to be desired.

The base lamps are SR-M with a DOT driving pattern, so it's not shocking that other manufacturers are using them.

I have their generic yellow covers on mine which work quite well.

Checking back in on this thread. Is the output of the Raptor Rigid fog essentially the same as TRD Pro Rigid fog? I am thinking so, but wanted to confirm.
I am looking for a plug and play upgrade to my TRD Pro Rigid fogs - higher lumen / output. I contacted DD, they don’t have anything. Any suggestions? I may bypass and go with ditch lights - a bit overkill for my use though.

Not sure how this was lost in translation..it’s like a game of telephone that you can see the history though

I purchased knock off (not rigid, China brand) fog lights on Amazon. The light output it terrible, more of a parking light. I purchased the used raptor fog lights because they are actually rigid and it was $130 for two. I intended for this thread to be a DIY for those that want The TRD pro lights at 1/2 the cost.

To answer the question, are the raptor Rigid fog lights better than the TRD pro Rigid fog light? Highly doubtful. I think they are an identical light! Would not go through this trouble for the same light output if you have ACTUAL Rigid fogs.

if you have China knock off fogs, yes, youuuge difference

No expectation of better light output - the Rigid Raptor fog I fully expect is the same light output as the TRD pro fog.
Things are Tiny.. for the size they are impressive

I believe you’re right. I guess I don’t really have an issue with the actual output as much as where the lights are positioned, there is almost complete overlap with the led headlight coverage. Maybe the rigids were fine with the earlier pro headlight configurations but they’re almost useless now. I like how the Raptors have two lights at both corners.

I had a similar interest in getting more output from my fogs and came across this post some time ago. I liked how the mod looked OEM but had more output. I reached out to the guy who posted via DM but he mentioned he had since sold his Tacoma. I still plan on trying something similar once I have a better idea on how to go about it.

Thank you RT_VIC! Great thread! Sounds like it can be done but requires a little tweaking of the bezels.

I bought a knock off set about 6 years ago they were great. I had a gift card from the dealer and scored a new set with the bezels and all. It was cheaper to but the replacement lights and the bezels separate and was a lot cheaper. The China cheap knock offs were identical to the real Rigids and were just as bright. I gave them to my Neighbor, and they are still serving him well.
