What is the white cap for on the backside of the 3d gen TRD pro LED headlights? I tried searching but never saw anything that said what it was. Just something I was wondering about.

Manual switch for the headlamps to activate the path clearing lasers. One on each laser, driver and passenger side lamps. Do not stand in front of the truck while pushing it. In theory, they do not come on till you move 3+ miles an hours, but do not rely on computers for your own safety.

PS You have a SR5 with Pro headlights?
Retrofittinfg Pro LED/Laser lights to a non-pro truck does not get you path clearing ability, only better light. Pro has a larger alternator and thicker wiring to support the extra power requirements of the lasers.

Well would have been great to have that information from Toyota. I now have two belly buttons thanks to that stupid laser.

In all seriousness, what the hell is it really for? I’m assuming a vent for the heat from the LED’s but wanted confirmation.

From what I recall it’s a cover for one of the adjustments.

It is indeed a cover for one of the adjustments. I forget which direction that covered one adjusts but you can see the other adjustment gear lower on your photo right in front of the corner of your battery. One of them adjusts side to side, the other up and down.

As far as I know these lamps only have vertical adjustment and horizontal is completely dependent on the plastic tab that attaches to the body panel on each side. I’m open to being wrong though
Edit: This forum is what I’ve based that opinion on
