3rd Gen Quicksand thread

Thanks. Been a long time lurker, new poster since I've only gotten closer to actually getting this thing. Obviously, browsing the forums and doing my endless research, the mod bug has already bit. Got tints lined up on Wednesday, and a few daily creature comforts ordered on Amazon. (Ram phone mount and other nick nacks) Planning on breaking this in and doing lots of road trips and off roading. I know the capability of this rig offroad, so I'm gonna enjoy this stock for a little while before the mod bug hits harder.

 

Dang!! I really like those wheels! I've been debating on bronze for sometime or just getting some desert tan ones but those look sick!

 

Not gonna lie I love those wheels! How does the extra width play with gas mileage and handling? Was looking at their website and they are 1.5 inches wider. Also I don't know too much about tires but can u put a tire from the stock 8 inch wheels on them? Can you stretch tires like that? I really have no idea on that myself.

 

CX looks great... based on your picture, did ARE revised the window design to match the depression in the mold? That was one of the main reasons I went with the V-series instead of the CX.

 

Holy crap! I've seen that mutt city's vehicle when I was a kid. I used to want one so bad. Aww the mind of a kid.... I still kinda want one....Hilarious

 

@SurfratTX Are those matte black or high gloss gunmetal FX Pros?

 

They are the gloss gun metal. depending on the lighting they are either almost black to a dark gun metal gray. I saw the other colors in person.....liked this the best.

 

Thanks for the feedback, that color was Dustin's recommendation for quicksand. Just trying to get visuals of both matte black and the gloss gunmetal on that color as the FX Pro is on my shortlist when it comes time to move on from the stock off-road wheels.

I had these originally on my 2016 MGM then it got totaled via Harvey....so glad that they look good on the QS.

 

I'm not totally sure what it may have looked like before so I don't know the answer to that question, sorry!! But I do know that I love the looks of it, here's another pic, maybe that will help

I highly recommend. He makes some great decals, there's a whole boatload to choose from. Mine is the "Backcountry Edition".

Thinking of going with 5100 Bilstein up front and 5160 Bilstein in the rear. Anything I will need with this? Just want a small lift and level, Stock wheels for now.
