This is my experience here in the Northwest... Dealers have a "Dealer Daily" sheet showing what is in their and others pipeline. My dealer in October could tell me what their allocation from Toyota was into January. I told them which Truck configuration, what options, and the color plus some accessories which were required and some that were ok but not necessary. I established a price of $900 over their invoice whichever combination of the previous they came up with. In late October I chose my Quicksand DCORSB V6 with Technology package including a tow package. They have temporary Vins and later permanent Vins. Once I put the deposit the Vin was mine. It was scheduled for a Nov 15 build and arrived first week of December from the Texas plant.

They also know other dealers allocations so if it is not in transport they can change the destination with a "dealer" allocation swap. They do this all the time.

My dealer also could do a area trade but I do not like some "unknown" driving my new vehicle from some other town and screaming the engine in all gears and trying out all the traction options while flying down the freeway or wherever. The salesman at my dealership does the ferry from the other dealership and I could have ridden along. However, I wanted one delivered directly off the truck. Mine had only a couple of miles on it.

Hope this helps but a lot depends upon the integrity of the dealership. That said, they are in it to sell you what they have or can get right now for the monthly sales quota.

Depends on your build spec. Mine was DCLBOR full options. Took over 3 months. Totally worth the wait for me.

I have been quoted two different dates. For a quicksand 4x4 SR DC it will be around a month and a half, and a white one is 2 weeks. Just depends on what all options and accessories you are wanting. Thank you all for the responses of my previous question by the way.

Thank you, I am contacting a dealer now to see what options are available. By the way, your profile picture a Ducati motor?

I was at the dealer Saturday as well to order mine. I sure hope not 3 months too. Do you happen to live in the south? Going off your pic I am going to guess not.

Ha-ha no I live in Utah I think it depends on alot of factors if there is a truck that is not claimed and is already being built that is your specs the dealer can allocate it to their location. I am not holding my breath for mine tho.

Yeah had a feeling, I was going to say there is a website called Southeast Toyota that shows what is in stock and what is coming withing the next few months. It is apparently what the dealers around here use to give an estimate on a date. Maybe there is something around your area that does the same.

Yeah they had the same thing here. My current Taco is silver and I am over that color. Holding out is not fun.

I'm surprised that the lead time is not getting shorter on these trucks yet. I ordered and got mine back in October/November and it took about a month. That was for a rare build of a manual OR with no-tech as well. Shows the demand is still super high.

Agreed the market is going nuts for these trucks. I am interested to see what Nissan plans on bringing to the table

Hahaha agreed no cummins? I wouldn't give up a Tacoma for a Nissan but a small block cummins would be pretty neat
