Pickups days may be numbered.....baby on the way and might sell it for a GX470. More room and no car payment wouldn't be a bad thing.....plus a MUCH nicer interior although its 10 years older.........

Thought I would post up a few pics of my just off the lot 2019 Quicksand TRD OR. I had a 2016 Tacoma Mag grey that got totaled a few weeks back. Was so upset....Loved the grey but back in 2016 couldn’t find a quicksand (my first choice) in the long bed TRD Off Road so I did settled for the grey. Always regretted that aspect of the purchase. This time around.....the accident intervened so with a chance to do it all over again...I was not gonna settle this time. Got lucky and found a quicksand local in the exact configuration I wanted. Jumped all over it and can’t be happier. So damn excited. Let the mods start all over again!!!

Dear Quicksand Tacoma Drivers,

This is some sad and tragic news. Please be careful while driving out there. In a different photo, it appears it was a driver of a Quicksand 3rd Gen Tacoma who mowed down the kids. Don't drive like an idiot while you represent and enjoy your Taco. It could have just been a tragic accident. Nevertheless, let's try to be safer and more alert/aware of our surroundings while we drive.

Heartbreaking story. I couldn’t help but think of the many children/bus stops I pass while driving my Tacoma to take my son to school in the mornings.

This was sad. My biggest question is with that much damage to the front of the truck, I can't imagine that a human body (especially kids) did that much damage to that truck. Did she hit something else also? I have seen deer and elk do much less damage to a vehicle than that.

 

Yes. This is very heartbreaking...

It looks like the driver didn't hit anything else before or after hitting the four children (I'm not sure if the fourth child, not related to the three who died, is still alive). Another article said the speed limit was 55mph, which could have been why the damage on the truck was so bad. It looked dark still in some of the footage I saw and it was said the kids had to cross the street to hop on the bus. I'm surprised the bus driver or parents weren't around to help the children cross more safely.

I’m still in awe at the incident. The damage to the truck is quite heavier than I anticipated.

Toyota vehicles store a significant amount of data from crashes, so I’m sure professionals will be dissecting the pre-crash data (speed, accelerator input, brake input, steering angle, etc.) as the investigation continues. Had this been a 2018 Tacoma with TSS, Toyota would have a vested interest in the collision investigation as well. Thanks for sharing the article. Let’s stay posted more as information comes forward.
