3rd Gen Quicksand thread

I did not sand it at first. I just sprayed it. This is only one knick in it .keep in mind I live on a 1 Mile long gravel driveway with BFG KO2s .so I throw a lot, and this is all I've got so far . If I did it again I'd probably lightly sand and use an adhesive spray as well. But it worked very well for a simple application. And btw, I can touch it up, seen it done, easy and no biggie .so I'd say pick the battle you want. More prep early or small simple touch ups once a year (if you throw gravel) .hope this helps.

 

I really like your tire/wheel setup- whit is size/BS of wheels and size of tire?

Tires: BFG Mud-Terrain KM2 LT255/80R17E (33.06")

Wheels: 2007-2014 FJ Cruiser Steel Wheel 17x7.5 6-5.5 with 14mm offset

 

Here's my 2017 TRD sport....

 

Just a couple of light mods and a simple BHLM didn’t want to add too much money into the headlights.
Satin black bezel, gloss black turn signal bucket, satin black lense bracket/holder, VHT tinted the side markers, STi-R clear lenses swap on stock projectors, Morimoto amber turn signal, Morimoto Amber XB fogs by Kustom54.
Also have some raptor lights (4) tinted with VHT that I haven’t gotten around to installing.

 

Faux TRD Pro grille installed last night. It’s an Ebay grille. It was a pain to modify and install.

 

Really, You had to modify it ??
I bought mine last year for $75 on eBay and it went right on no mods needed.

 

Yes, the install was a mess, partly my fault and partly poor fitment. I ended up purchasing replacement screws and using J-B Weld epoxy to finish the deal.

 

Just joined the Quicksand family. Originally I went in to purchase a Quicksand Taco but the one I wanted was being bought when I came in. So I leased an Inferno Tacoma because I always was dead set on buying one in Quicksand. Well, let’s just say due to some lazy mechanic work at the dealership I was left with a truck and a blown motor. I found myself out of the lease and I was able to finance this fine example for myself. I couldn’t be any happier, now I need some TRD Pro wheels and Grille

 

I think I might have the same issue with my faux pro grill. The holes aren’t threaded to fit the screws that hold the Toyota plate on! I ordered it from madhornet and it’s been sitting in the garage since it came over month ago, I haven’t figured a way to fix it that will be good permenantly.

Yep, sounds like we got grilles from the same batch. I let it sit for a few days until I decided to rig it.

Thanks. Yes they’re a simple swap nothing else required. They are the Morimoto XB’s with Amber leds, limited order exclusive to @kustom54lighting. I got in on their group buy a few months ago and paid around $140-150.
I believe they still had a few sets left last time I heard, hit them up.

 

Now treat yourself to some awesome 265/75/16 Duratracs and you'll be amazed!
