3rd Gen Quicksand thread

with new lift and shoes

 

I had posted in the MGM post earlier about my paint having issues and beginning to have Toyota help. I have an appointment on the 25th to drop off at Sierra Toyota here for it to be repainted. They've been excellent in helping get it fixed.

 

I bought some of the rustoleum gloss khaki to try out some customization. Thought I'd start with the skids plate.

Not as close to a match as I thought it would.

But whatever.... not sure what to do other than say fuck it.

Threw it back on, threw some stickers on it and called it a day.

 

I have only painted plastic pieces so far but mine is almost a perfect match. That gloss khaki was no bueno.

 

What color did you use?
Someone else said this was almost a dead match.... but yeah, nah. Not even close.

 

Is my truck trying to tell me something?

 

Washed my truck - and took out my small frame 125 primavera.

Need to swap my winter tires out this week.

 

You have winter tires on the Primavera?

 

Any issues with your roof rack set-up? Wind noise? Is that a Yakima basket on Yakima cross bars? Any other pics…maybe a side view? Thanks in advance.

 

No issues with wind noise I've noticed. It's a Yakima megaload with thule bars.

 

This is a setup I want to do in the future instead of a roof camper. Do you ever set up camp and leave your teardrop camper and go 4 wheeling? My only fear is that the camper will be gone when I get back, is there any security measurement you take if you do leave your camper at site?

 

Added some side steps from Yita motor this week. Like the drop goes the whole length instead of the single steps.

 

Tire rotation on this gal- she’ll turn 5 this fall. Got her new in fall of 2017. I am just about to hit 60,000 on it and zero issues.

 

First wax in almost 5 years since i bought her and man this paint looks like new! That old school turtle wax is alot more work than i remember lol

 

Will post mine in 10 more years after I'm allowed

 

The Taco got a bit more Quicksand, a bit blacker, and a bit redder with a 29er.

 

New accessory for the long bed. I wonder if I can paint it quicksand and red.

 

Wash n wax. New wheels n tires.

 

Quicksand is the BEST color for Arizona! Updated photo to reflect changes since I first posted here 4/17/21. Added viper cut, vinyl, and painted OEM wheels bronze.

 

You could, or you could buy a super light aluminum Canoe.
