3rd Gen Quicksand thread

Looks nice! Some people are really down on the color for some reason, and I can't figure out why. It seems to be the most utilitarian color to me, and also the most rugged. Really does stand out from the crowd of grey, silver, red, white, etc, etc.

 

If anyone has a picture of one on a leveling kit with the largest tires that can fit will you please send them to me?

Reminds me of the Sandstorm color on the FJ Cruiser in some of the pictures. But it looks darker in others. Does anyone know how close it really is to that color?

 

Here are a few pics of my Quicksand Taco next to my friend's Sandstorm FJ. Sandstorm is definitely lighter. But Quicksand changes shades depending on the lighting and time of day. One minute it's light and mellow and the next minute it's dark.

 

Yep, I love how it changes color in different lighting. On some days from bright sun to dusk, it goes from a bright tan to darker as the light diminishes, sometimes on overcast days it almost looks OD green.

 

Wow! That's more noticeable than I would have thought. The color looked a lot lighter in some of the pics in this thread. I'd say it changes shades alright.

 

Props to you guys who have this color. The first time I saw one, I was like "oooh, I don't know...it's a bold move..."
But they've totally grown on me. If this color was available when I was shopping, I would prob have gotten one.
They look great.

Got a build date of April 8th for mine today.

 

Been driving a tan 1985 Toyota for nearly 400k miles love the color. Told my wife years ago that when Toyota starts building a tan truck again I was gonna buy one so my old one could get a well deserved break. Wouldn't have any other color Toyota just wouldn't feel right.

 

Went to get groceries today and ended up parked right next to my Mom. When we came out she said "Your truck makes me want to go hunting!"

The quicksand color is awesome and very popular, see alot of them on the road.

 

It's weird, cause I live in an area with a ton of Tacomas and the only colors I have yet to see on the road are quicksand and red.

 

Yeah, me too. I've seen Silver, MGM, Black, and White. There are only two TRD OR Quicksand colors, one is mine, the other is a guy who lives about 25 minutes from me in a different town. Even the dealer I bought the truck from said the Quicksand isn't too popular up here.
