3rd Gen Quicksand thread

Well I spoke to the other dealer with the MGM taco in stock. Told them via e-mail we would be out there tonight to buy it. Sent my old dealer the email and said "sorry, I need a truck and I can't be delayed. Appreciate your time".

1/2 hour later he called and said they will pay all my registration fees and give me a loaner truck until mine is delivered.

I pick up my loaner truck in the a.m.

So my truck should be here Saturday through Wednesday! Keep your fingers crossed I get it this weekend!! Quicksand Double cab short box off-road with tech/premium and JBL. Can't freaking wait!!

After months of homework, lurking and waiting, finally a proud owner of a Taco. Non-JBL tech, tow, tonneau and all-weather mats.

I'm coming from a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited to this beast. Smoother, quieter ride than that sedan, incredible build quality inside and out too. I fell in love with Quicksand and this trim the moment I saw it. I had to transfer from port last week when I put the order in and it was originally scheduled for July 5th delivery. To my surprise, it came way early on yesterday (June 30th). Just in time for week-long trip to the beach!

I've got more head turns than miles on the odometer right now. It's not for everyone, but I think it's one gorgeous truck and color.

Picked mine up on June 1st after a 6 week wait. You guys waiting 2/3 months sure have a lot of patience! Photo from last weekends fun.

Not a fan of the long bed personally, but that's a good looking truck and background. Enjoy!

First post, just got my full cab, 4x4 OR 5ft bed. Fully loaded with JBL speakers. First Toyota and loving it. Look forward to flipping through the forum.

I didn't realize how hard it was to find this particular truck. I eventually went out of state to get it rather than waiting the quoted 8-12 weeks (probably more) to have it built. Worth it!

 

I'm going to have to contact my dealer tomorrow, been 10 weeks and I haven't heard anything. Inquired with another dealership, and they quoted me $1500 more than my current one that I have the order with. He said that he does not see my order in the system for this dealership... don't know what to say and who to believe, I just want my truck already. This new dealer said that you cannot get JBL with a DCLB in Quicksand... He was using the Toyota website.

My truck when it arrives will be the same as yours. I want to get confirmation of an order and/or build date before I start purchasing mods.

I got nothing other than them telling me on 05/21/16 that it will be another 2-4 months before Toyota builds it once they have enough orders in to change the assembly line... They were told this information from their Toyota Rep... Not sure.

 

Keep asking questions. I assume you put a deposit down? They have your money, they should be more than willing to give you answers and your truck. If not, you know something is up.

I was able to track down the exact build I was looking for and put down a $500 deposit to have it transferred before it reached another dealer. I know it's a different situation, but when you're talking about a $40K truck, a dealer should be more than willing and capable to track down what you're looking for. I received my truck just days after the deposit and that was 7+ days ahead of schedule. They even gave me a loaner to drive at no cost until it arrived. First class operation.

You need to get answers and better customer service.

 

Oh hell yeah picked up my TRDOR dcsb tonight. Traded my 15 Rubicon for it and couldn't be happier!!

 

Picked mine up tonight as well. Left the dealer at 7:20pm and by 9:00pm had my first mod done, lol.
