Hello everybody I just joined the quicksand club!

I went to look at a grey one and saw this hiding in the back of the lot. I had to have it. I never saw one in person and dealer pictures didn't do it any justice so qs wasn't even a consideration until I laid eyes on it.

Ps you guys have done some awesome looking things to your trucks.

Man U got the sunroof to. Toyota lets these trucks with sun roofs leave the factory knowing they leak. They tried fixing mine three times now. On the last fix they said it's an acceptable amount of water coming in. I think this is bullsht if I knew they allowed and acceptable amount of water I would of never got it. They compared it to another Tacoma with a sunroof and they said mine had less water coming in. Like that was supposed to make me feel better.

 

My sunroof has never leaked and it is been through some serious Texas downpours.

 

I thought the same thing until I put paper towels in all four corners and went through a touch less car wash. Two were wet and one was so wet I could ring it out. I went and test drove two other with a sun roof and both did it as well. I took my old car up and acted like I was interest in the truck.

 

Same, not a single leak thus far. But, my experience may not be representative of that of others on the thread.

 

Added some window dressing, literally. I thought who better to certify a Quicksand Taco than a Jawa. I have extra of these if anyone is interested.

The aluminum panel is part of the toolbox option as a windoor through ARE. I carry stuff like air hoses, recovery gear and first aid kit in the toolbox.
I believe the standard window slides and comes tinted.

 

Both cab and shell are Frontrunner Slimline IIs. Very modular and sturdy, but pricey

Look put put paper towels in all four corners then go to a car wash and you'll know for sure. I have done it with all my other cars and no water comes in. I tested two others at another car lot and they both leaked. The main Toyota mechanic for my region even made a special trip to try to adjust it. All he could tell me was that he made some adjustments and that it doesn't leak as bad as the other Tacoma they had on the lot
