Anyone running Rancho Quicklift on a 3rd gen?

I traded in my '15 last week for an awesome deal on a barely used '16 TRD OR. I'm looking into what lift to eventually get. I know the norm is Bilstein, Icon and OME... but I'm looking into all the options and I've been intrigued by the Rancho Quicklift since they came out a while back. I had a toytec on my '15. It was great but I want to try something else.

Edit: here is a picture of the kit.

I think the adjustable settings are kinda gimmicky but that is from some first hand accounts, not personal experience. If they work as intended it seems like it would be a nice feature. Reviews on the second gens I've seen with this kit are positive. They also have some tubular UCA's that look pretty sturdy. Not a fan of the block. I'd go with a new leaf pack.

At $1200 it doesn't seem far off from other lifts. Especially since it comes with UCA's.

And a quick pic of the new ride... grill guard is sold.

1" Toytec body-lift, K&N filter, coolant by-pass, mesh cotton screen delete, TTBS, WeatherTech in channel visors, 2.5" Rancho full suspension kit, Oil Catch Can, Toyo 285/70 A/T-2's, 21.5" light bar in grill, blacked-out grill, de-badged entire truck; and again, more to come.....
So how is the Rancho riding?? Any major issues, dilemmas, problems?? I'm really digging this kit as UCA'S on any other lift are over the 2K mark.... This kit is legit, as Rancho has been around for years!!!!

I don't have this kit. Or any lift kit yet. Still enjoying my stock ride until tax return season.

However, this does still seems like a legit setup. I was disappointed to find that they no longer make the in cab controller for the shocks though. I thought that would be kinda cool to eventually do. But oh well. I'm leaning more towards the OME kit. It's between 2-2.5" and doesn't need the UCA's.

I think, and could be wrong, but all of the info I've looked at on UCA's for the 2-3" kits are for better alignment, and of course less stress on the uca ball joints... I'm gonna say the UCA are just a good insurance for the longevity of a kit, and parts..... Just my thoughts....

I run this exact lift on my 2013', and I love the lift and the ride quality, and it was very easy to install.

UCA's make the alignment MUCH more accurate and the ride is much better. I will be doing it next truck.

At that price point you could get an OME lift with rear Dakars..

You don't need UCA on small lifts.

You are basically swapping UCA for a shittyy block in the rear.

There is a very good reason why OME, Icon and Bilstein are the norm...

Hey gmann1972; what tire size are you able to run if you had one more inch of lift?? I'm curious???

I am currently running BFG K2O's 285/70/17, and no rubbing at all, I did however add toyotec 1/4" spacers up front, in addition to the lift kit. These tires are plenty big, maybe even too big. This large of a tire is why I believe I suffer a little in MPG. next time I will stick with 265 or 275

If it's not too far off, then buy a proven, quality product and don't waste your money on no-name junk.

Thanks everybody... I was in a rush and not really looking or researching all differences in kits... Thanks everyone for all the input, and for whatever else is to come, both informal and sarcastic...

I wouldn't call rancho no name junk. They may not have a huge presence in the Toyota community but they are a solid, reputable company. That's why they are even on the table for me. That said, I'm leaning towards the OME kit that a lot of people here are running without UCAs without issue. Should be even more cost effective that way.

Yeah, Rancho has been a major player in other sized truck markets, but by far a junk lift. I'm still contemplating this lift for my 2nd gen because all the parts are right, as is the price... Sure I'd love the Icon, or TCF, Fox, or King, but those price ranges are up there with Maryjane, (HIGH)!!! So, I'll be riding factory, and playing with motor/power-mods....

You definitely have a lot of options. Yeah, if you keep it at just 2", you can skip the UCA's. You just have to work out how much lift you want, and what you want to do with the truck. Will you run it empty mostly, load it up, tow with it, run it offroad a lot? Those will factor in to which parts you should look at replacing, and if you should just keep your stock rear springs or not.

We offer assembled struts, saving you time in the garage. A lot of resellers offer assembled struts too, so that you don't have to disassemble your stock units and then you can swap out the front suspension a lot faster.

Our version of a quick ride kit is $850 plus shipping. That's assembled front struts with your choice of coil, new rear shocks, and the block and u-bolt kit. Or go to a full suspension with full rear leaf springs, u-bolts, bushings, and greaseable pins too for $1200

Awesome!!! This far I feel any kit offering UC'S will save headaches with alignment, wore out ball-joints and such, so that's what I'll be going for; an affordable kit with UCA's.. Thanks again, and I'll keep'er stock until mamma gives me the go-a-head...
Thanks so kindly.. We'll be in touch.....
