    TLDR, but...

Am I the only one here that thinks the 3rd gen is a perfect balance? Sure its a bit ugly, doesn't have power seats, and its still rocking drum brakes but shit, sharing frame mounting points for bumpers and suspension components with the 2nd gen is probably the best selling point for this truck. Using tried and true technology is also a plus IMO...

Seriously, minus the diesel option (I was a bit disappointed too), what did you want/expect from the 3rd gen?

So I might sound like a curmudgeon..

I had no plans to replace my truck with another Tacoma, so consider me as someone with no expectations and only a minor degree of care..

I don't really like much about the 2016. What I like the least, is the amount of fappery that TW was inundated with from new members that flocked here solely for that truck release and info. What it amounted to, was months of people spreading misinformation and rumor all the while declaring exuberantly that the previous model year was such a piece of shit in comparison that Jesus himself would likely take a dump on the dashboard of the final 2015 to roll off of the assembly line. Anybody who questioned it was an asshat moron, and anybody who agreed was an asshat moron fanboy. For months..

Now the truck is out, it's less than spectacular IMO - contrary to 95% of the third gen subforum history and 100% of the rabid dogs known as "3rd genners" and the only thing that's changed is.. well, nothing, but it's still the warmest turd in the toilet bowl and they'll hear nothing else.

Truck can stay even though I don't like 90% of it, even in pictures.. but everybody else has to go.

Racists caused that, and if you disagree you are a racist that loves Stalin. (or something along those lines)

Bearings, I'm not sure about, but I did hear the hubs were strengthened. I don't recall any details about that as I read about it like a month ago.

Is it to late or can I join this party? Upon reading more into the nuts and bolts of the 3rd gen i feel I have to retract my initial opinion. I thought I liked it but not so much anymore. It lookes like the only real improvement is the cabin refinement and a few technological upgrades. Not hating I just don't think I'm ready to jump ship.
