Bird Dawg Industries makes a mirror riser that works on the 3rd gen. It will cram the mirror up against the headliner almost too much to the point of it fighting to stay up. But that mirror is way out of the way now. Been running it this way for about a year now and couldn't be happier. Those with the scoop and are tall have a huge disadvantage without being able to look right.

Thanks for the warning. It looks a bit sketchy since the mount is attached to the black out and not the glass directly.

I was planning on attacking it out of the truck.

Thanks! I thought that was 2nd Gen only.

Pics are worth a 1,000 words.

Like I said it is smashed up along the headliner. I have to adjust it back up time to time as the headliner will push it down slowly. When I have my tent and mid rack on that mirror becomes almost useless anyway. If you do decide to order it there was someone that broke their windshield trying to install it. Several others including myself have installed in without problem. I had a write up on it a while ago and maybe I can find it.

Thanks for the great info, good Sir.

Any chance we can see those pics with a bit more light?

No problem. Wherever it settles would be fine with me. I just need to see wheels or feet that the highest current setting blocks.

I want a GFC someday down the road, so the mirror will be useless at some point.

Gorilla torque / force tends to break a lot of things. I did, extremely stupidly, crack a windshield once trying to get wipers arms off. I thought the pollen filter was hiding under the cowl. The worst part was that it wasn't. It was between the foot well and dash. Just awesome!

I was just gonna try and cut the brackets off and drop it as low as I can. I’m an inch away from the headliner.

It's crazy the lengths we have to go because Toyota won't put the option of power seats in these trucks.

Imagine how pricey they would be if they did. I mean if all 4 windows rolled down like the front we all might as well just buy range rovers.

The seat height is prefect for me, but I did add 1in spacers on the passenger seat for my Wife. I doubt that power adjustable seats would allow us to go any lower. That'd take a redesign of the cab, IMHO.

I hear you! I was trying not buy anything for a while, but when the mirror blocks entire dump trucks. . .

BTW, I looked last night. The thing preventing more rotation on the mirror side is the overly large shaft connected to the ball pivot. Cutting into that is probably not a good path. The connecting rod between the two pivots might be able to be dremeled, but it is likely that I would nice the pivot also.

    I've heard it doesn't fit??

Does it touch the headliner at all?

I'm interested, but one one that's without compromise.
