I had the same woes. So I bought a Magnuson and that made it way better. Then I started working with @mZiggy on his s/c tune and it made it even better. Part way through the process I ended up re-gearing the truck and now it drives like it should. It holds 6th gear on the highway unless you want it to downshift in which case you mash the mr. thirsty pedal.

What ever makes you feel special... It seems like you guys really need the ego boost as you get older and you become less capable of other things :jerkoff:
“Can drive manual” really means “still drives manual”. It doesn’t mean people don’t understand how MTs work or are incapable of fathoming/performing the steps due to their age... Younger generations don’t need to learn, so unless they get sick of grandpa droning on and on about it, they don’t.
Having just taught two 19 year olds on my 85, I stand by my assertion that anybody can do it and will add; regardless of age. The biggest hurdle is getting them past the embarrassment of stalling and accepting people can just go around you.
I’m just venting though. I’ll go back to the corner while the geriatrics discuss how their manuals don’t need security systems because they are “millennial proof”

I'll be another data point here. I had issues with the stock gears and the truck hunting between 5-6 at 60-70mph. I am now running 4.88's in my truck with 265/70R17's. World of a difference. Much more get up and go in town, much less effort getting up to speed and short of a decent grade or strong headwind will hold 6th at any speed over about 55mph with ease. Very pleased with the difference gearing made. That said there are still some times in town that this trans makes some questionable decisions in shifting. I am still running stock tuning and think the next step for me is tuning, but gears made a large improvement in drivability of the truck.

the way I see it anyone that can drive a riding lawnmower has the necessary training and skill level to drive a manual vehicle. I've been qualified since I was 10.

We don't brag that we possess an easy to master skill, we brag that we make good choices :boink:

You don't need a manual nowadays to stall in traffic, automatics equipped with auto start stop stall the engine at the light for you.

You should have just said anyone can drive a manual… if taught. No need to go off on a millennial vs the universe tirade lol. I drive an automatic and prefer it. Some drive a manual and strongly prefer it and express that. Live with it you’re not gonna change it, you’ll be a lot happier that way.

Some strongly prefer calling out hyperbole and unnecessary elitist attitudes to remaining silent and choose to express it. Live with it I guess?

I think that is what he was doing, talk about hyperbole, that fucking post you made was painting a lot of people with a very broad brush.

So I suppose you could just live with it.

Let it relearn, it should get better. It’s still not great on highways but it IS better.

My truck had a major power issue for the first 6 months of owning it (much like the one mentioned). The dealership couldn’t figure it out and kept telling me that there was no problem. Finally, after taking video of the truck revving and shifting when it should’ve been did they take the issue more seriously. They pretty much rebuilt the motor to no avail. Finally, after I removed my exhaust and muffler did I find the problem. The honeycomb inside the muffler had broken loose and caused a slight blockage. After replacing the muffler and the exhaust with a new stock TRD pipe and muffler the problem was fixed. If you have aftermarket exhaust or any mods to the exhaust that might cause too much or too little back pressure you might experience a power issue.
