I'd be surprised if they do anything without ordering. Looks like he took the easy way and left all the wires on the dball and extended the ones that were required.

He may be using a kit that was used on the Highlander which is the only model to offer the t harness

Iv seen issues with this route because everything it going through the main data lines. Also the wires are most likely for the auto lights

Also one thing to note is the manufacture's for these bypasses and remote starts do extensive testing to produce a simple product for installer to install creating less time giving the installer more money made per job. Things like this make their product a superior over others. Id be cautious about taping wires that are not recommended by the developers of these products. It may work but that doesn't mean its correct

Directions in the ad say they go to the steering column so that'd be slp wire and ? Unless something else is being tapped into up there. Also says the 2017 highlander requires two additional wires.

    SLP and PTS most likely

Yes my point was the highlander has a t harness offered by the manufacture to go onto the obd2, this product isn't for the tacoma

    Level kit,
Well I just purchased one, so will keep you informed on the details when I get it. There is a $20.00 referral so if and when anyone else goes this route would appreciate the referral.
    Thanks

Which made install on wife's rx350 a little bit easier.
Speaking of which, I want to install smart start on her car, anyway to tell if dball had been flashed to accept smart start Or would I have to pull it and hook it up to a computer ?

    Level kit,
If he is falsely advertising that it works on the Tacoma you can get your money back through Ebay of Paypal if used.

Do you have the extra harnesses for the dball?

I'm not sure what harness you're talking about. What came with her kit(Amazon) was harness that you would get with nicks kit and obd2 t harness.
I just emailed seller to ask if it were flashed for smart start, it's been
A while since I bought it, but hopefully I get a response

When I ordered mine from Amazon, I had 4 harnesses: the blue and red ones we use plus a black and the white/red d2d connector.

    Level kit,
Just spoke to the fellow on Ebay that is selling the kit, he told me the 2 wires that need to be tapped are the Parking lights, and the SLP wire. all the rest is just unplug the OBDII plug the white part of his harness into it and his black connector is the new OBDII . Very nice fellow to talk to, he works on installs for Ford and Toyota in is town . He is going to email me the install instruction sometime today. Also the kit is pre programed for the SmartStart.

Guess that makes sense for the parking lights to be in the steering column also. Still curious what he's doing with the auto-headlights or if he's just ignoring them and advising people to be sure they turn them off.

    Level kit,
He told me the auto lights will work just has they do now. No wire cutting across the auto light wires.

    Level kit,
He just asked me for the link to the forums web site, how do I direct him to this thread, so he might be posting about his kit.
