I do not have that kit, I bought the Plug N Play unit for the auto start and the newest Viper unit for the SmartStart.

Did you order from 12voltsolutions? I'm looking at their remote starter paired with their cell phone add on. The cell part apparently needs them for activation, but there is no information on the website as to hours and availability.

Just realize, "their" system is the same thing KB Voodoo sells and I discuss in my DIY (though probably the newer DB3). It's all from DEI (who also owns Viper and others). Their value add is making a bunch of male/female pigtails so you can just plug and play, but of course you pay a fair premium for that. @KB Voodoo does a bunch of work looming wires and so forth, plus providing support, and so they have a solid value add for the price for those for whom that kit is appropriate. Then there's my DIY write up in my signature for the folks who want to completely go it on their own starting from scratch. (no I don't sell anything)

Read my SmartSmart DIY to see about the activation piece. You ought to be able to do it yourself assuming that's what 12voltsolutions is selling; I tried to check their site just now and am getting an "Error establishing a database connection" site error. Don't know what's up with that.

That is very odd, I also tried sending them a message on Ebay and it told me that I could not send the message. I am installing the unit tomorrow, hopefully there are no issues.

Remote Start & Smart Start installed, everything works as expected. I guess my only complaint is that once you open the door it kills the ignition, that is from Toyota and there is no way to prevent it.

I have the same setup however my panic feature doesn't work within the Smart Start app. Everything else works great! Do you have the same experience?

FWIW I don't think I've ever tried the panic feature. Guess I'll try it sometime when it won't piss off the neighbors.

Installed my 12voltsolutions plug and play kit today. It took longer to take the dash apart than plug it in. I wanted a plug and play solution. There is a price to pay for convenience sometimes and i am happy to have a remote starter that I can unplug with no evidence it was ever there. I watched the video, read the one page instructions and went to work. I probably could have done the cheaper versions but I just wasn't ready to cut/tap the wires under the dash on a brand new truck.

That is the same thought process I had, just spend the extra money for the Plug & Play. I added the SmartStart because I like to be able to start my car from my phone also.
